I think I'm already completely disinterested with this entire contest. It's going to come down to Simpsons and Looney Tunes, and Looney Tunes will wreck The Simpsons. Anything else would be a travesty.

Looney Tunes is not a show, though, nor a single cartoon.

It is simply a collection of Animated Shorts that were originally placed in theaters from 1930 to 1969.

It is multiple characters and multiple series. It is just half the compilation of Warner Bros. cartoon series. (The other half being Merrie Melodies that ran between 1931 and 1969, and was originally used to showcase WB's music library. Really.)

To just put in Looney Tunes, is almost like generally grouping every Hanna Barbara show together into one entry.

Also, you may or may not realize that at one point, characters were exclusive to one collection or the other. (Elmer Fudd & Bugs Bunny were both original exclusive Merrie Melodies characters while Daffy Duck and Porky Pig were exclusive to Looney Tunes.)

So, are you also going to have Merrie Melodies as an option as well at some point, since they are two different "series"?

The cartoons were shown on television in syndication under the name Looney Tunes (as well as some others). Since Merrie Melodies were also shown in the same show, it gets grouped in with them. What or how they were shown in theaters isn't too relevant.

Since most toplists for animated series on the web include Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies, I say it's fair game. The fact that they have been packaged into The Bugs Bunny Show (with it's various name changes) and that it was on for 40 years qualifies it as a series in my opinion. At the very least, it deserves to be listed at least as much as something like The Woody Woodpecker Show which also used theatrical shorts.

Yeah, this is over. Looney Tunes in a fucking landslide. Darkwing Duck takes a respectable second place. And whoever it was, Scooby appreciates your pity vote.

You might want to put actual time limits on these. I just voted on this, despite it being closed.

Time limits would also assure each show an equal chance.

Yeah, but sometimes they get run longer or shorter, depending on how it's going, and he clearly marks it when it's done, and notes the results at the time of closing, so I don't see why still being able to vote afterward should matter.

And Fontaine, how so?

Well, jeez, maybe that's why I put "closed" in the title.

And I just don't see the need for time limits. I'm not sure exactly how long each of these is going to run, so any limit would either end things sooner than I want, or allow people to vote in closed polls anyways.

Votes in closed polls don't count regardless.
