Not to mention quite a few of the questions on Lostpedia's "Answered Questions" section are either easily answered by fact, or are easily answered by understanding human behavior.

I'd actually like to rewatch the series at some point. I might pick up on a few more things I didn't before.

This is how I feel. I never expected to have all of the answers. I'm curious what the answers are, I just didn't think they were all essential to the story of the main characters.

Honestly, I think I'm in the minority, but the ending of that show pissed me off so badly that I don't think I'll ever watch a rerun of it again. I just sat there and shook my fist in rage for a little while after it was over. It felt like a gigantic cop-out because the writers couldn't think of anything better to tie together the tantalizing but disparate elements of the story.

As a side note, it also makes me mad that David Lynch isn't like a decade younger, because an ending that bad proves that networks will sustain anything now, provided it draws viewers. A Twin Peaks redux would probably go for a decade worth of episodes. Damn CBS, demanding to know who killed Laura Palmer! Okay, mini-rant over.

Carleton Cuse and Damon Lindelof wrote that episode at the beginning of the series, because they knew how they wanted it to end. The only changes I know about are the Eko thing (because he wanted too much money) and Ben being there (Ben was originally only slated to appear in 3 episodes, but the fans loved him).

I think the end is very touching. The FST universe is a limbo, where people meet up with the most important people in their lives and then they move on together in the afterlife. Some aren't ready. Ben has to "awaken" Danielle and Alex. Eloise has her son and Charles.

Now, I don't believe in an afterlife, but if I did, this is kind of how I'd want it to be. Moving on with the most important people of my life.

I know they knew how it would end, but if I'd have known, I wouldn't have even bothered. It gave me the exact same feeling that beating Super Mario Bros 2 did, except I didn't cry at the end because I'd wasted that much time on it. Not to mention the fact that I now feel I wasted a lot more time on Lost. Just left a really bad fucking taste in my mouth, I guess.
