What do you guys think of it? I'm going to go with "It's OK." The first four minutes are boring as all get out, and the second half sounds like they're trying to replicate "One". Still, it's the best they've put out in years, and at least it's thrashy near the end. Plus, Kirk's lack of wah on the solo is pretty refreshing. So I'm conflicted. I'd be curious as to what your opinions are.
P.S. I still hate Lars.

I think it's St. Anger with a solo and no reggae snare. That isn't a good thing. It's just the same riffs over and over, same with 'Cyanide'. It does sound like a replica of 'One'. I'm happy, but not impressed.

Holy crap, it sounds like it was recorded in a garbage can. They need to back off with the drums.
Do metalheads even know why they tune their guitars down anymore? I understood drop D, as it made power chords easier to play, but drop C sounds like ass. it just seems like they're in a pissing contest to see who can get their guitar lower and more "dark."

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

I like it, but it feels like they had something with potential and did the best they could with it, like with Load and ReLoad. Also, I heard a cut of these from a friend of mine that works at a radio station, and on the cd it sounds a lot better then on their myspace page, I don't get it. I feel better about them though, and hopefully they will continue on this path to better music still and get back the fire they once had.

Just heard it last night, it sounded disjointed and confused, like they slapped to partially finished songs together with some crappy lyrics written on a dirty bar napkin. I did not care for it.

Seconded. It just sounds sloppy. They've been in the crapper since Reload anyway. Boo to them.

I was listening to Cyanide, which doesn't remind me of anything they have done before other than it is heavier hard rock.
What I keep finding myself asking is what is up with the hollow drums?
Cliff Burton... I miss you.

I think Syd said it before but here's photographic proof.
