I just saw this flick last night and I thought it was pretty good, as far as stoner comedies are concerned. I think Grandma's Boy was better, but this movie had some great moments. Who here has seen it, and what do you think??

I saw it. I think it's just like Superbad. If you liked Superbad, you'll like this. I thought both movies had a lot of funny stuff in them, but overall were REALLY slow. I definitely think Grandma's Boy was better as I bought that movie, whereas Pineapple Express/Superbad were fine, but I'll never really want to see again.

exactly, that last scene was real good when they were reflecting on the everything that happened, but it did move very slowly. Grandma's Boy is so much better as I bought that one too. I must have watched it 1000 times since. The characters are just more endearing.

I haven't seen Pineapple Express yet, but Grandma's Boy was the epitome of slow. That movie made me wish to be stoned. And I hate weed.

Grandma's Boy is such a classic, Nick Swardson is so great in it. IMO its faster paced than most other films in its genre. And I love weed, hah

Hahaha good call. Not to mention Kevin Nealon does a great job.
Dante: "I'll smoke it with you, we'll go to the loony bin together bro, I don't give a fuck!"
Shit...I should have just made a Grandma's Boy thread.

1. I really want to see this. I was sold when Seth Rogan himself descrbed it as a "pot action movie". Fuck, even if it was a pot chick flick movie I'd see it.
2. I watched Grandma's Boy exactly 17 times. It never stops bringing the lulz.

Saw PE tonight. I liked it. Went a little long, but it was better paced than Superbad was. I laughed out loud more at PE than I did at Superbad by a lot.

I forgot to mention this the first time around, but honestly, I felt like Pineapple Express was a slower paced and more vulgar version of "The Stupids", starring Tom Arnold. This isn't something I decided in retrospect, either. I was sitting in the theater during the slow parts thinking to myself "Wow, this is a lot like The Stupids! In the name of the Lloyd!"

I saw it a while back. I thought it was very slow, but it was still pretty funny. Not as good as Superbad, though. I must say, I didn't think there was going to be that much action in the movie, but that last half-hour was absolutely amazing. I also must saw that PE (MINOR SPOILER)
contains the finest scene of ear mutilation since Reservoir Dogs.

I didn't really care too much for it. I'm sure I would think it is funnier if I watch it again or something. It wasn't as funny as Grandma's boy, that's for sure. While on that topic, anyone here see Strange Wilderness? I thought that movie was hilarious!

Haven't seen pineapple express, but I thought Strange Wilderness was a bore. I'm getting sick of Seth Rogen flicks. Grandma's boy was better than Superbad IMO. Superbad was way too long for me, especially the Unrated version. I saw it in the cheap theatre and it was the perfect length. It does drag on though. A lot.

Yea I too am getting a bit burnt out on seth rogen. Grandma's Boy reigns supreme over all. They need to get all those happy madison guys together like allen covert and make another similar movie, or perhaps even a sequel...I would watch it 1000 times.

Thought PE was the worst Apatow effort to date. Then again, I'm not into stoner movies, so that probably had something to do with it.
I'm tired of Seth Rogen. I thought Knocked Up was funny the first 20 times I saw it (thanks HBO), but now I'm a little burnt out on him. Still, Apatow and Co. can still pump out great movies... Forgetting Sarah Marshall was one of the funniest movies I'd seen in the last 2-3 years.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |
