Does anyone agree?

I'm tired of bullshit Nazi propaganda about what music player everyone should use. WinAmp may very well be the greatest music playback program ever made. But I don't give a shit because WMP and iTunes play the exact same shit (MP3s) and work just fine.

I wouldn't even be bitching about this right now had it not been for not one, not two, but three people who have stopped talking to me because I don't use WinAmp. It's bullshit. I'm glad I base my relationships with people on things other than program elitism.

If it works, I'm happy.

Window Media Player has always been my first choice for MP3s, AVIs, etc. Just because it's already there and I don't have to download and install it. Also, with a codec pack install, it will play just about anything.

I use Media Player Classic because I actually wanna you know, do actual stuff, while watching a video (without my computer being slow.)

When it comes to mp3 players, I say use whatever the fuck you feel like. As long as it plays mp3s and you like it, who cares?

GPFontaine gave me shit like a week or two ago because I use WinAmp. He was all like "Ew, why do you use THAT?"

I'll tell you why I use it. Because back in 1999, it was the only real fucking option we had, and I've seen no fucking reason to use anything else. It plays mp3s, it lets me fuck with the ID3 tags, it has an equalizer, it lets me save playlists, and it doesn't hog my system resources. What the fuck else do I need? What other functionality do I fucking need in an mp3?

I don't understand why people feel the need to try and convert others to their software preferences. People do it with NES emulators too. I DON'T FUCKING CARE WHAT NES EMULATOR YOU USE. I'M HAPPY WITH THE ONE I HAVE, THANK YOU.

Yeah, the only reason I have an iPod is because I got it for my birthday. I hate Apple, but I lvoe my iPod because it's small, can fit almost 2000 songs (sadly not enough though) and the headphones are QUALITY. I really have no preference, as long as it plays songs and sounds good, then whoo.

And yeah, who honestly gives a fuck what Media Player you use?? That's douchey.

I just use Windows Media Player since it was installed on my computer. It basically plays any file that isn't m4a (it even plays these movie files with weird extensions that I found when I put in my Silent Hill 0rigins disc into my computer).

Although I do have iTunes. When I downloaded the newest NIN album from my brother's house, I ended up downloaded apple lossless files and WMP wouldn't play them. It took me five freaking hours on dial-up to download iTunes...and it was only sort of worth it.

I got itunes with my ipod, I got something else with my offbrand mp3 player. I think I have a few other things (including windows media player). I use itunes for no other reason than my ipod was my first mp3 player so all of my music was on there. When I got my new computer I installed for no other reason than it is what I was used to.

I have a buddy like that though. He takes one look at my DVD player and says, "You're DVD player sucks. You should get one like my top end more than you can afford model." I don't give a rats ass. I've never been watching a DVD and said to myself, "I don't like my DVD player. I need a better one." Everything he has is better than yours. Even if its not.

I've been using Winamp since like 1997 and it's never gave me a reason to want to switch. I have tried many other players over the years, but I always find myself coming back to it. WMP has gotten way too bloated over the years and isn't very efficient if you just want to listen to MP3s. Itunes is the same way. For videos, I use VLC. It's super lightweight and has EVERY codec already built in so you'll never have any playback issues.

This may not apply to you, but if you want to netplay, you have to make sure you and your buddy use the same emulator.

i used to use windows media player. but it always slowed down my PC like crazy when playing video games (warcraft III or HL II et. al.)

then i read syd's post about winamp, and he was 100% correct. winamp owns because it doesnt use up all my goddamn ram

i started out using Musicmatch Jukebox because it was the first thing I found on my computer, then switched to Windows Media Player because it had kickass visualizations, and now I use iTunes because I have an iPod.

VLC biotches. The only thing you'll ever need on any operating system to play any media file. I agree who the fuck cares what player you use? I've used several, many of which I've forgotten the names of, but for now I stick with iTunes and VLC player because they work.

I use Itunes, simply because as far as I know nothing else can play the stuff that I've bought off the Itunes store.

Stupidly, I didn't realize at the time that buying from Itunes store would create this problem.

I'm crazy.

I use winamp for in the car, or indiidual songs that I want ot hear real quick, itunes for organization, zune for synching with my 360, wmp for dvd playback, and media player classic for video that I download.
