after seeing the the irate gamer's ghost hunt cheese fest, i decided to watch some good old UM ghost stories on youtube. It was amazing some of them even scared me when i was younger but a few still do, like the exorcism one and the one with the Tallmans.

The ghost in the comedy store did scare me when i was a kid now i laugh at it.

I just have to say this, no show today can match the awesomeness of UM, at least no show on network TV. Twisted Evil

Fun Fact: Robert Stack was a big fan of cavity searches. Giving, not receiving.

That theme song scared the heck out of me as a child. To this day it still creeps me out, but not as much as it used to.

I LOVE the theme song to Unsolved Mysteries. Been looking for it, but can't find it.

The sow was awesome too. I never missed a show. They did some awesome alien abduction stories too. It's a show that seems to be imitated a lot, and with good reason, I don't think any show has done it better.

I can still remember the number for the hotline from watching it as a kid.

1-800-876-5353

Its still active too.

I've got the murders DVD. If I watch it at night, it still creeps me out. But did any of you ever watch Sightings? It was ten times as creepy as UM. It was only on late after dark. So anytime I ever got to watch it was after my parents went to bed and all the lights were off in the house.

I used to think what was being re-enacted was actually happening, and I'd end up yelling at the screen to save the fucking girl, she's being fucked raped, you stupid fuckers, you're right fucking there!

Meanwhile my mom would be just staring at her 7 year old son screaming like Sam Jackson.

Sightings was one of my favorites as a kid. I've always been obsessed with aliens and the unknown, shit like that. That show scared the bejesus out of me.

As for Unsolved Mysteries, I was absolutely in love with it and while Lifetime aired them for a couple years I managed to rewatch pretty much every episode a couple times at least during summers when school was done, back in the day.

That theme song was scary. I remember watching it as a kid then going to bed and it would be playing in my head. Scared the shit out of me.

"According to Angelique (last name I can't make out), a nosy bitch who lives up the street..."

It's hard for me to imagine people on the set not cracking up when he says this line.

EDIT: What movie is your sig from, Reaper? It's bad-ass.

Raiders of the lost ark, the first indiana jones movie and arguably the best one in the series. Go rent it, it's a lot more awesome then crystal skull.

Not saying much, considering Crystal Skull sucked. Come on, it had the kid from Even Stevens in it for goodness sake!

Disturbia was pretty good... I guess. And Transformers had Megan Fox! That's a point for LaBeouf right?

Well, Megan Fox has clubbed thumbs so that actually drops her several points.

Down with LaBeouf.

Crystal Skull didnt suck. It was a good movie if you let it be a good movie. Dont think about anything when you watch the movie.

This board seems split on the Shia opinions, but can we leave that debate in those other threads? I come here to escape those posts and just bask in the glory of Robert Stack.

*gay alarm* Oops... Embarrassed

Yeah, sorry, seems I've been in hijack mode today.

Back on track, I loved the Bigfoot and ghost stories on Unsolved Mysteries. Loved them to the point where I'd turn it on and the first story would be about "Lost Loves" and I'd get noticeably pissed.

I think the scariest part of the show was the places Robert Stack would be standing in while he talked. Were those backdrops or actual places? I can't seem to remember.

They were set pieces. They were only parts of dressed sets, but not really a full set - although technically it is a set -- and technically set pieces refer to action sequences that will be highlighted to attract audiences... Damn, I really embarrassed my film school diploma. Embarrassed
