Because Germany plays host to the Magic Circle Festival.
Held from July 9th - July 12th, the Magic Circle Festival will be held in Bad Arolsen, Germany and will feature the following bands:
Manowar
Whitesnake
Def Leppard
W.A.S.P.
Alice Cooper
Ted Nugent
MSG
Doro Pesch
and a shitload of other bands.
Manowar are the headlining act and will be playing 3 hour sets on the 11th and the 12th. Alice Cooper is the headling act for the 10th. The 9th is the opening ceremony and a battle of the bands competition.
I wish I was cool enough to travel to Germany.

God damn it, I was just in Germany 3 months ago. There's a lot of hot girls in Germany and they dig Americans especially in the east, as long as you're not a pompous ass. If you attempt to talk to them in German, they like that too and they think its cute when you really make the effort even though youre fucking it up. Pretty much the further east in Europe you go, the more they like you it seems. I met my girlfriend in Romania.

I've never been to Wacken (not my kind of music really), but I know people who've been there and it's supposed to be pretty good. The hardcore metal fans complain that it's become too mainstream though, because of the organizers trying to make as much cash as possible by hiring only established bands and no newcomers.
