24 season one finally getting re-released as a special edition. Here's hoping the uncut pilot (or at least the deleted scenes like the airplane blowing up) is on there.
I'll definitely double dip this one. The season one DVD has always bugged me because of the lack of extras and chapter stops.
Oh good, and it looks like the uncut season finale is on there too. You know, the one where Jack Bauer actually kills more than one person charging after Drazen.

Or best? The whole country has it wrong. Hopper's was historically correct.

Praise Allah! There will be a two-hour TV-movie prequel for season seven in the FALL so we will not have to wait until January for new 24.

HOLY FUCKING SHIT! Jon Voight joins '24' - Will play the villain in the seventh season

In his first series role in 40 years, Jon Voight has signed on for the upcoming seventh season of "24."
On the Emmy-winning Fox drama, Voight will play Jack Bauer's (Kiefer Sutherland) uber-nemesis who is pulling the strings behind next season's terrorist threat.
The character will be introduced during "24's" two-hour Season 7 prequel and will be featured heavily in the latter half of the season.
The prequel, now shooting on location in South Africa, is slated to air Nov. 23, with Season 7 of the Imagine TV/20th TV-produced series kicking off in January.
The tapping of Voight marks the first A-list villain casting on "24" since Season 1 when Dennis Hopper appeared in the final episodes as Serbian nationalist Victor Drazen.. |

Update: the uncut pilot is NOT on there. Nowhere is the shot of the plane blowing up from the commercials. The two commentaries are alright, the documentary is good, there's two Rookie shorts. The deleted scenes are the meat of the extras. Great to finally see them.
The extended episodes are the BBC versions of the last five episodes which all ran 1:30 longer than the US versions. I've only run a side by side comparison of the finale. Two big scenes are added: Bauer doesn't kill any more Drazen henchmen, but he does get pinned down by Andre for 30 seconds; Teri talks to Nina for a really long time while Nina's phone is ringing. Nina says she's going to transfer out of CTU LA (ha-ha).

24 looks kind of shitty, never seen a full episode but from the commercials it's never looked good to me. It just looks like it was always over dramatic, I know there are some pretty high drama scenes that warrant a lot of dramatics but the commercials always seemed to may it look overdone still.

You should go rent the first disc from season 1. Even if you don't think its amazing or anything, its at least worth a try. I promise you won't feel like you wasted your money or time.

I just may do that tonight.
If it's good enough for South Park to spoof, it must be worth a look.

He did a good job at being the bad guy in Anaconda.
He could play the part of an underhanded bastard like he did in Enemy of the State.

Rewatching season 1 has led to rewatching select episodes from seasons 4, 5, and 6 and season 2 in its entirety. The show holds up incredibly well and continues to play better on DVD than a week at a time. Even the Misadventures of Kim in season 2 don't seem as terrible as they did five years ago. Season 2 is incredibly tight.
