Trying to expand my horizons. If you're gonna drop artist names, reccomend albums along with them. Especially since people like Miles Davis and John Coltrane have thousands of albums to their name.
Addendum: I'm looking for some Jazz that you don't have to be an expert musician to appreciate. To be specific, albums with jazz songs instead of jazz excursions.
There are a lot of what if's in life Donny. What if I hit you really hard in the face, knocked yo shit to the back of yo skull? What if I....had you girl gargle my nuts? The fact remains, you are a fuckin mutant.

I fucking love him, he was always one of my favorites!
...
The only Jazz singer I have ever really liked, was the "Velvet Fog" himself, Mel Torme.

Im actually a trombone player who plays a lot of jazz.
If your wondering whats the most interesting to listen to and not get bored check out:
Heavy Weather - Weather Report, the main track "Birdland" actually made it on the pop charts in 1976. I wrote a paper on fusion.
Black Market - Weather Report
Blue Train - John Coltrane
The Great Fontana - Carl Fontana
A Time For Love - Bill Watrous
Anything by The Yellowjackets is great, I like The Rippingtons, but if you listen to one of their albums all at once it sounds like elevator music.
Bitches Brew - Miles Davis
Birth of the Cool - Miles Davis
Doo Bop - Miles Davis (A hip hop Davis cut)
There are many more albums that are kick ass.

I bought In A Silent Way by Miles Davis and I'm afriad it bored the crap out of me, not to mention it sounded like there was a skip in one section. Perhaps I should narrow down my expectations a bit.

If you're up for some (literally) crazy stuff check out Sun Ra, especially "Supersonic Jazz" and "Jazz In Silhouette".
The 100 Greatest Jazz Albums may be a good starting point too. I can't vouch for its accurateness, but the list of greatest hip-hop albums they have on that site is pretty solid AFAIC, so I'd give it a chance.

I like the pink panther theme song
I'm so bananas I'm showing up to your open casket,
to fill it up with explosive gases,
and close it back,
with a lit match in it,
while I sit back, and just hope it catches.
Blow you to fragments,
laugh,
roll you, and smoke the ashes.

Kids in the Hall had a great sketch about jazz. Sadly, it's not on YouTube. Here's one that's almost about jazz:
