Anyone else here a Deftones fan?
I enjoy the music for the mood and atmostphere it brings without delving to much into full on prog rock. As of right now the Deftones are in the studio working with Terry Date. This is great as his resume is amazing and he brings some long experience to the table as the last 'tones album was a bit all over the place for me.

I like some of their stuff from White Horse. It's funny because alot of their songs are very emotional and powerfull and they work just perfectly, but if you listen carefully that guy is a terrible singer. Kinda like how Ozzy would sound retarded playing with any other style, or that guy from System of a Down, take the music away and they sound retarded.

I kinda sorta technically saw them in concert um last summer but really I only went to see Dir en grey. We left before The Deftones even got on stage. Embarrassed It was our friend's birthday though so one of the roadies took her backstage while they were playing so she could see them. That was pretty cool, we saw them through the door.

The vocalist was kind of anti-social but we did see him hours before the concert when he walked off to Burger King for lunch. We smiled at him when he walked by and he gave us a wave.

I went to Family Values to see Dir en grey. :O Was The Deftones there too? Oops. 8D I don't really remember all the bands that played later on, we were too busy suffering from freakin heatstroke. It was something like 100 degrees and we were in an outdoor ampitheater. Ugh.

I've seen Dir en grey three times... when they originally came to the US and played a concert in New York (their Showcase Tour), then at Family Values, then when they opened for the Deftones. Three times may be enough, I kinda hate their latest music.

I don't listen to them, so I don't really know if I like them or not. I do know that I kind of like there lead singer on a song or two with the band Team Sleep.
