It's 1AM on the East Coast, and I'm sitting in a fucking computer lab on campus working on a statistics (ie, Hierarchical Linear Modeling) final that is nothing but bullshit statistical programming*. I'll probably be here until about 3, at which point I'm going to have to go home, go to bed, wake up at 7, and do it all over again.
Fucking grad school.
*with apologies to statistics programmers

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

SAS. The demon seed of Satan and that guy in the question-mark suit.
I don't care if it's more "elegant." Give me SPSS. At least I can operate that without the program just staring back at me blankly.
I swear, every time I try to run something in SAS, I feel like I just told my dog to go fetch a stick and he sits there and licks his junk instead.

I remember all the times I had 20 page research essays to complete, and one of the only places I would vent to would be this forum. Good times!
Can't wait until grad school!

Word, I can relate to that. I got my BS in finance, but I had to take 2 quarters of statistical programming for the stats minor I got suckered into getting. Me and stats have a love-hate relationship, but anything involving SAS has a lot more to do with the latter. I much prefer using R (S+ clone) myself. SAS is way too formal and picky about shit, and using it for extended periods of time always made me want to blow my brains out. Anyway, I'm sure you know all about that. Good luck with your research.
