The first film in superhero movies always lets me down. Dunno why. Probably because they seem to all follow the same flow.

Staying after the credits amped this up to a five star-er. I can't stop sinking the bloody song, though.

Well its more of how they create the story. You see the characters then you see their problems then you see how they get the power etc etc. Generally its the second movie where the action is start without all the backlogging. Great example is spiderman. The second movie jumped right into the action while the first seemed to build and build with backstory until the final confrontation. As much as i liked Spiderman i liked the second so much more. Same thing with X-Men and Blade.

X2 and 3 sucked. I loved the first one. And I loved all three Blades, even though I felt bad about it.

Damn, I missed it too. This movie perfected the Comic Book film formula without being so overrated and awful like Spiderman 3 was. I didnt feel like this movie was a cash in on the summer Blockbuster season like S3 was. I'll pay the 8.50 for the two sequels. Hell, I paid 8.50 for S3 and Pirates 3.

I watched it yesterday. It is easily one of the best movies that is out right now.

Oh, and yeah, that secret scene after the credits really sets the mood for the next movie. Marvel really did nice job with the movie. Very Happy

Saw it yesterday, wasn't incredibly excited to see it because I wasn't a big Iron Man fan, but i'll be damned if I wasn't saying "DAAAAAAAMMMMMN!", "HOLY SHIT!", I laughed a lot, and I never once thought man what time is it? Spoilers Hidden* -
Samuel Jackson as Nick Fury just made me want to go ape shit, in a good way.
Plus I heard there is going to be a scene with Iron Man in the new Hulk movie coming out. Edward Norton as Bruce Banner > anything.

If Iron Man is any measure for what a Marvel produced superhero movie looks like, they should get their rights for The Fantastic Four back as soon as possible, before 20th Century Fox gets a chance to throw another one of those stinkers at us.

i can finally read this thread. nothing spoilerish in this thread so i feel like an idiot.

anyhow, i enjoyed the movie. way better than transformers and 300. just had to get that off my chest.

anyhow, i like how close it was to the original origin story of iron man. of course, some liberties were taken, but not too much to piss anyone off. i never followed iron man religiously but i was generally surprised by what i saw.

but..... wasnt there a nick fury movie already? w/david hasselhoff? i dont mind sam jackson (in fact i think he is awesome) but will they just disregard that movie entirely? or retcon it somehow? cause stark was already knee deep in S.H.I.E.L.D. before Nick Fury joined them, according to 'son of origins of marvel comics'

The movies generally have nothing to do with the comics. And generally movies have little to do with each other. Dont forget the Dolph Lundgren Punisher and the two they made recently. All three have seperate actors. I know the 2004 film and the Lundgren have nothing to do with eachother. Also both hulks have nothing to do with each other too.

I may be the only person who cares, but Jim Kramer made this movie for me. I dunno if that counts as a spoiler or not. If so, please yell at me.

I'm pretty sure they'll be going the Ultimates route, seeing as he's black in that universe.

I'm sorry, i've forgotten why i am here, give me a minute . . .

. . .
. . .
. . .
. . . bounce . . .
. . . iron bounce . . .
. . . somthing about iron . . .
. . . oh, iron boobs! I mean man, Iron man.

I just saw it earlier today. Yah, it was defently better then Spidey 3 and X3. I kind of wish they showed more of Iron Man kicking ass and wasn't so predictable but i liked how badass they made the Iron suit look and I also got a kick out of the suite marvel nodes like stan lee showing up (again) and the reference to SHIELD.

Wait, that guy was for real Shocked I thought he was just some random SNL actor who entered to give some much need comedy relief.

How about the trailers, the Hulk, Indiana Jones and Dark Knight ones look promising. I don't know about M Night Shamolon's new movie, it looks interesting. Will Smith's new movie . . . that's a maybe too.

Just saw it tonight finally. I think I had my expectations up too high. Still good though. I think I wanted more action and for the whole origin to be shortened.

Also, I've been sick of Samuel L. Jackson for five years now, I have no need to see him in anything else. Please Hollywood, stop sticking him and his overacting in every damn film.

the hulk movie is going to be great. I jsut noticed that he uses the hulk hands (car boxing gloves) in the trailer, and at the end you can hear the sad wlakign away music from the old TV show.
