I always look down when actors or actresses have to be called the same name as their own name in a show/movie. Makes me think they are such bad actors the only way they can respond to lines is by saying their real name.

I like sex jokes as much as the next guy, but that show seems to force it all the time. Sheen's character gets a lot of poontang, I get it, move on already. Whenever I flip to it I see him in bed with someone. Pretty repetitive.

Some of the most classic shows of all time did this though. Bob Newhart, Dick Van Dyke, Mary Tyler Moore...

Yeah, but that's because Tony Danza gets confused if you call him by another name.

I was thinking more of Fresh prince or @ and a half men. There are some other ones but i did totally forget about those. Those are all pretty good shows you listed.

Norm - Great show.

Two and a Half Men - I can't stand. Despite Jon Cryer, I can't watch it. It's too sit-commy for me. I do have a copy of its pilot presentation tape though. The one time I watched it I realized it must be damn easy to get a sit-com on the air because it was so mediocre.

Sitcoms are attractive to networks because they're cheap. You build two or three sets and you're good to go. The costs are nowhere near what they are with a drama. This also why you tend to see crappy sitcoms that only last four episodes each year. When you have a show with a bunch of no name actors like Cavemen, the network is willing to take the chance because they'll make a profit on advertising even if no one watches it.

But then if a sitcom is a successful, the salaries tend to get ridiculously high. Look at Home Improvement or Friends.

I so wanted Cavemen to rock, because I love the commercials...but I couldn't make it through one episode.

I fucking hate the kid in Two and a Half Me with a passion. What an obnoxious little shit. It's too bad his dad's too much of a spineless loser, his mom's an uberbitch, his nanny/housekeeper is a crazy biker who just wants to party, and his other guardian is a drunken womanizer.

If he were my kid, I'd smack him around on occasion.
