Sorry if this was already made but I didnt want to SUPER BUMP. I rather enjoy Iron Maiden actually, so I wanted to discuss there songs and ect. If you post something insulting to Iron Maiden, you admit you suck. Everyone has opinions though, my favorite song is The Number Of The Beast.

I GOT TICKETS FOR THE JUNE 3rd SHOW IN VANCOUVER!!!!!!!!!!!! I've been a fan since like...'96ish, when Best of The Beast came out (I was 7). They came to Vancouver in 2000 or 2001 on the Brave New World tour, and that was supposed to be my first concert, but crap happened, and they haven't been back since....so I've been waiting 7 years for this....

When I was 10 I wanted to be Bruce Dickenson.

The unholy trinity:

Powerslave
Caught Somewhere In Time
Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son

Unfortunately I don't think Maiden is playing anywhere near Bloomington, IN.

I've been listening to the Eddy Trunk show on the boneyard XM, and as I understand it Iron Maiden is still considered cool by the rest of the world. As in, they pack stadiums with 20 year olds intent on listenting to their new stuff, versus america and its small audience of nostalgia hogs.

This is presumably why they rarely play America.

I've got tickets to the June 6th Edmonton show! Pwnage.

Also, Run to the Hills, Children of the Damned and 2 Minutes to Midnight are their best.

The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner wins in the most underrated song category...the entire Killers, Number of The Beast, and Piece of Mind albums are their best, plus other songs from the other albums, like RIME OF THE MOTHERFUCKING MARINER!

And Gunmshoe, though they rarely play America, they still show up at least once every two years, and then they play a date in Ontario and a date in Quebec.,,yet the Dance of Death tuor, Matter of Life and Death Tour, plus their last tour of the first four albums never came to Vancouver despite countless petitions and public outcry every time....and their show here sold out in like 3 days.

2 Billion Maiden songs, and the one you like the most is Run To The Hills? You sound like you just discovered Maiden about a month ago.

Sorry I just get slightly annoyed when someone talks about how many Maiden songs or albums they own and the song they like the best is their biggest hit.

It is still an odd thing to say. Its kinda like a GnR fan saying they really like Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child O' Mine, or Paradise City. Its given that if you like them, you like these songs and is only worth acknowledging if you disagree with the masses.

Its also worth acknowledging if you have a particular thing to note about them. One of the posters here as a baby had Sweet Child O' Mine as his lullaby. I think.

Exactly. For instance, I like Billy Joel but don't like Uptown Girl.

I definitely think I've seen Maiden threads here before, but you can never have too many. Smile

I've actually been big into their newest one (Life and Death) for the past few months.

The only Maiden album I own is Piece of Mind, and I love it. Not a bit of filler. Highlights: Flight of Icarus, Sun and Steel, Die With Your Boots On, and The Trooper are my favorites, with the solo to Flight of Icarus being the highlight of the entire album. Plus, Dickinson was one of my early vocal influences, despite me learning on that I didn't have 1/32nd the vocal talent he did.

I really got that vibe too, with his favorite songs being their most popular.

Anyways, I own Powerslave and Number of the Beast on CD but have managed to not own any of them on tape or vinyl. I have Life and Death and Piece of Mind in their entirity on my computer though.

"Hallowed be thy Name" gets my vote as the greatest metal song ever written.

Though my favorite album is 7th Son.

"Wolfman's got nards!"

You must defeat Sheng Long to stand a chance!
