Seeing the auditions for good and bad? Yay.
Beyond the group auditions (a.k.a. Round 2)? Nay.

I watched a little bit tonight. I think it's stupid how emotional everybody gets. When one of the girls got picked by the judges, she started bawling. For five minutes they told her what a great job she did, then she walked out of the room, went to the elevator, and was still crying.

I watched two episodes this season and I'm surprised this is still on the air. The contestants were fine, but the judges and Seacrest have wore out their time. They all need to be replaced, ratings be damned.

i dont' like the auditions. i just want to watch the talented people sing. and i don't think they need judges, they're just annoying.
i do like the singing though. it reminds me of college when i had to perform or watch other students perform every week.

I like it all. The auditions for obvious reasons. The actual tryouts where the USA gets to vote who stays and goes is great too. You get to see some real great no-name singers.
I agree, the judges are pretty unnecessary after the auditions are done, but they are tolerable.
I used to think Ryan Seacrest was a douchebag, but he is kind of cool actually. He is a radio DJ in LA, I forget which station, but he actually did something very nice/cool to some little league baseball team. The team had ALL their equipment stolen for some reason (helmets bats gloves etc etc) and RS heard about this amd bought the whole team new equipment. The cool thing is, he didnt publicize it. He never announced it on his radio show or went to the papers w/it. It only became public knowledge when the little league coach made it public. So I thought that was very cool that RS wasnt a total media whore about doing something nice.
