Just something that'd been on my mind since the stuff about The Simpsons drying up worse that any of those Desperate Housewives.

Jay Sherman FTW.
Alex Trebek on the X-Files was pretty awesome.

I never got into X Files cause of the time slot always screwing me over, but I do remember Alex Trebek making an appearance on Cheers, when Cliff Claven appeared on Jeopardy. That was pretty cool in and of itself.

Can you even really count a cross-over of a spin-off?

Nah. Same with Angel and Buffy with the four-parter. But I think those are better than those "ha-ha, it's Kramer!" sort of cameos.

Det. John Munch is the best crossover character ever.
Let's see, so far he has been on:
Law & Order
Law & Order: SVU
Law & Order: Trial by Jury
Homicide: Life on the Street
The X-Files
The Beat
Arrested Development
Paris enquêtes criminelles
The Wire
Munch has been the only fictional character played by a single actor to appear on seven different television shows. These shows were on three different networks: NBC (Homicide: Life on the Street, and Law & Order franchise), FOX (The X-Files, Arrested Development), and UPN (The Beat). Munch has also been one of the only television characters to cross genres, appearing not only in crime drama series, but also the genres of sitcom (Arrested Development and The Simpsons) science fiction (The X-Files) and children's (Sesame Street).

Only if they were actually Spock, Kirk, etc. However, since they were Shatner, Nimoy, etc. Luhr from the Planet Omicron Persei VIII denies your counting.

Uh, when was Munch on The Wire? I know it's by David Simon, but I haven't seen Munch and I've seen every episode. Maybe I missed it?

Dr. Katz on South Park. |
This felt more like a cameo though. Kind of like when Hank Hill came out on the Simpsons or when Roger from American Dad came out in Family Guy.

Sesame Street may be becoming a pussified version of what it once was, but damn the bastards are funny when they want to be.

I think Spiderman had a crossover with just about everyone in that cartoon. Iron Man, Captain America, most of the X-Men, War Machine, Blade, Daredevil, The Fantastic Four, hell, even the fucking Punisher.
I was a big fan of the DCAU crossovers though. Of course I have to mention the Batman Beyond Epilogue in Justice League Unlimited.

You're right. I should have said: "Will be on an episode of The Wire." The episode in question is titled, "Took" and will air Feb 17. |
Thanks for the spoiler warning.

That was like the best spoiler ever. I even spoiled that for a Wire fan today.

What about the episode of Transformers that Cobra Commander is in? It's not exactly a great episode but it's an awesome crossover.

What about the old scooby doo series with various guest stars? They had Don Knotts, Addams Family, 3 Stooges, Batman and Robin, etc

And more importantly the Harlem Globetrotters.
What about the other numerous South Park shows? Korns groovy Pirate mystery or Cartoon wars.
Also the Aladdin and Hercules crossover was actually pretty fun to watch.
