Well last time I looked a few years ago it was a website for the advocacy of trepanation, but now it appears to be broken.
Long story short it was all about how drilling a hole in your skull ala ancient Egypt could enlighten you and better your life.

it was very early brain surgery (no joke) i suppose. a whole in the skull was used by tribes to either let good spirits in, or bad ones out.
probably hurt a little.

I think even one of the law and orders had a case were people were 'smart' enough to do this and even found a guy after getting the drill job done. Lets just say he had more blood on his face then in his head.

The movie will probably tie up any loose ends though. Recently our local CW station started airing the the show late at night.
