I think your music knowledge is a bit dated? Limp Bizkit hasn't put out a successful record in like 6 years. That age passed awhile ago. If your gonna get mad at pop music of today try and make sure its today.

You are right. I've forgotten how long it has been since LB gave anyone a reason to complain. Damn, I should have focused my attention on Nickelback and Daughtrey (sp?) and Finger 11. Thanks for knocking some sense back into me erock.

I agree with enshinkarateman, the cover to Police Truck made me hate the series forever.

I dunno, I liked the creepiness of the Manson version. I always thought the Eurythmics version was too bubblegum pop.

Agreed. I also dug the Chili Peppers version of Higher Ground.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

Voivod did a cover of "Astronomy Domine" which I found to be both creepier and heavier than the PF version. Green Day covered John Lennon's "Working Class Hero", the first time I heard the GD version I thought it WAS Lennon. I dislike any cover of "Yesterday" made by anyone, period. Paul McCartney did that song too well for there to be another version. And Joe Cocker can go suck one because his version of "With A Little Help From My Friends" is lacking in temerity and originality. Godsmack has a cover of "Good Times, Bad Times" on their new compilation, I give that one a 2 out of 5.
World's End, a band from where I live, cover "Vicarious" by Tool. It deserves some attention.

That is all for now.

I do the like the Voivoid cover. I like Nightwish's version of "High Hopes" as well, but it's not as good as the original.
Not a fan of Green Day's Lennon cover or any of Cocker's Beatles covers.
Tool's cover of Zeppelin's "No Quarter" is pretty rad.
Oh, and Great White's cover of Ian Hunter's "Once Bitten, Twice Shy".

I thought Boyz II Men did a decent job on Yesterday. But then again, I am a fan of Boyz II Men. So, w/that said, I thought their cover of Human Nature wasn't too bad either.

Ah, I can't believe I forgot Astronomy Domine. I hear the cover so often I think it's just a regular Voivod song.

Ozzy's version of Working Class Hero way destroys Green Day's. On that note, any cover Ozzy does is spectacular, particularly his covers of Lennon songs (Woman, In My Life (Beatles I know) and the aforementioned Hero).
I also love GNR's cover of Knocking on Heaven's Door, Van Halen's You Really Got Me, and Johnny Cash's Cocaine Blues and Hurt.

Ozzy covering anything is great. His version of Stayin Alive is top fucking notch.

Dont forget Cash's version of One by that little irish band called U2 and the cover of Thirteen by Zandig originally.
Gonna throw one out there. M.C. Chris' version of Dare to be stupid is awesome.

You're thinking of the Sex Pistols, who re-recorded "Anarchy in the UK". "Holiday in Cambodia", as far as I know, is a cover.
Didn't Tori Amos cover Slayer's "Raining Blood"?

Lääz Rockit has a cover of Holiday in Cambodia too. I think it's better than Voivod's.

I just heard Foo Fighter's cover of "Band On The Run", and although I am not a huge fan of thiers, I think they did an awesome job of it.
And, my personal favorite :

Shit, I completely forgot about those. Well, those are great along with his version of Ghost Riders In The Sky, which is quite possibly the greatest Johnny Cash tune ever!
Also, I actually really like Joe Cocker's "With A little Help" I mean, they do sound like completely different tunes.

Yeah, the Beatles don't sound drunk and high when they sing it.
