No polls since they're awful and too limiting.
It's WAY hard to pick between some of my favorites here, but I'm gonna have to just go with Cameron from a previous thread and say "The Goonies". It's just perfect in every way.
Honorable mentions go to "Flight of the Navigator" and "Explorers".

Oh man, I freaking loved Flight of the Navigator. Such a fun movie. I used to watch that and The Last Starfighter back-to-back during the summer.

Anyone who doesn't say The Great Muppet Caper is awful and wrong.
Those movies are damn good though. Return to Oz is another great one.

Return to Oz is creepy as shit. I only made it part way through as a child. Those jokers were with the wheels for hands and feet were too creepy for me to handle.

I don't know if Ghostbusters or Princess Bride could be considered "kid" movies, but Roger Rabbit and Goonies were pretty good. Also, anyone ever see "The Monster Squad"?

So, Ghostbusters may not be considered a "kids" movie (although everyone watched it as a kid, right?) but in what way is Princess Bride not made for kids?

Well I'd say a lot of the dialogue in Princess Bride could be equally appreciated by an adult audience. I personally would consider 'Stand by Me' as one of the best kids movie of the 80's even though it was R rated. I saw it as a kid however and it was definitely relateable to a young audience.

The Goonies was the first movie that came to mind. I saw The Wizard on tv when I was younger and actually really liked it at the time, wouldn't put it up near The Goonies but it came to mind. I know it isn't what we are talking about, but The Land Before Time was good shit as a really young kid.
Would Stand By Me count? I really liked that movie but I'm not sure it quite fits here.
