After reading through the Top 100 SNES/NES games for the hundredth time, I got to wondering if there was a list of the top 100 GBA games out there? I searched Google, and found a limited number of lists.

So I figured I would ask the best source out there....SydLexia.

What are your top 10 favorite games for the GBA?

I understand there are a lot of SNES/NES ports that were re-released for the GBA, but there are also some great games that were only released on GBA originally.

Here's my top 10 (in no particular order):

1 - Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
2 - Metroid Fusion
3 - Metroid Zero Mission
4 - Castlevania: Circle of the Moon
5 - Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance
6 - The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap
7 - Gradius Galaxies
8 - Metal Slug Advance
9 - Pirate of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
10 - Prince of Persia: Sands of Time

I don't have a lot of experience with the Pokeman games, so I have not included them. I know they are highly popular however.

Mine has some ports on it. I'm only including the ones I've played on the GBA, so although SMB3 is a fantastic game, I've only played it on the NES, SNES, and Wii:

1. The Legend Of Zelda: A Link To The Past
2. Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island
3. Donkey Kong Country
4. Super Mario World
5. Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga
6. Pokémon Emerald
7. Mario Kart: Super Circuit
8. Super Mario Bros. 2
9. Metroid: Zero Mission
10. Castlevania: Circle Of The Moon (never played Aria Of Sorrow, which everyone swears is the best)

I think it's the best of the Castlevania games on the GBA. I would say it's probably my favorite GBA title overall as well. It's just fantastic.

I used to own COTM until I loaned it to someone and never had it returned. It was so great and thinking about it makes me miss my GBA dearly. Great thread, really brings back some memories. Also, the first time I ever beat the original Legend Of Zelda was on the GBA.

1. Astro Boy: Omega Factor
-Must be played on Hard mode. (Limits super moves to 3 stock capacity.)
2. Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow
3. Metroid Fusion
4. Mario & Luigi SuperStar Saga
5. Pokemon Ruby Version
-I would recommend battling a local friend. Have both of you use a Gameshark and create a level 100 teams. That way you get to experience the great battle system and skip all the life wasting grinding. (read battle rules here)
6. Megaman Zero

I'll write up more on them. Did not get around to playing what I've read is the best GBA game: Ninja Five-O. Also, did not play the Sonic Advance 2 and 3 games which were supposed to be half-decent. The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night got hyped up a lot on penny arcade forums because it was similar to Astro Boy: Omega Factor -- you might want to check that one out as well.

The only games I have yet to see mentioned that I played a lot and loved were the Advance Wars games. I played 2 a lot more than one, mostly because I only rented the first (when renting video games from blockbuster was still a thing) and didn't find it to buy until I was a bit older.
