The art style in both of them is really not doing anything for me.

I saw both of them and I look really forward to them.

I can understand not digging the LttP 2 art, but how can anyone hate the Yoshi's Island art style?

its not the full on crayon look. thats the main gripe i have read online. i personally dig both the old school crayon look and the new watercolor look.

I like the Yoshi's Island art much better than the old school Yoshi's Island art. I was never a particularly big fan of the original game though, so I can understand why actual fans of it would be disappointed.
But anyway, after the complete mediocrity that was Yoshi's Island DS, the new Yoshi's Island is going to have get 9/10 reviews or better across the board to get my money.

Even if it did get high review scores, I don't know if you'd like it, considering it's similarity to the original and you not being a fan of the original. You may be surprised, though. How do you feel about the ALTTP sequel/prequel? I know you loved the original A Link To The Past, so I'm curious to hear your thoughts about the new one.

The watercoloured backgrounds look great. My problem with it's the fact that it has the watercoloured backgrounds and then Yoshi's model is in 3D. It just looks stupid.

Actually, now that you've pointed that out, I kind of agree a that it would be better off with watercolor sprites, but it's not detrimental enough to me to go from liking the art style to disliking it.

I am very excited for the new LTTP2. I don't like the art style, but I have high hopes for it outside of that.
