Well you can do that to kids, it is just highly frowned upon and people call the police. I will give you that pets are cheaper in the long run though. No clothing, just need some water and a bowl of food, and they don't live for super long like a kid might if they avoid playing on the freeway and drinking the chemicals under the sink.

Honestly I'd probably like kids someday but still I think I'd probably prefer a dog. I like dogs and they don't have smart mouths and have no need to question your commands every time you tell them to do something.
