Best misleading yet apropos thread title of 2013. Calling it right now.

This really is awesome though. These things are amazing. Think we'll ever be able to see one in a local aquarium? If we can house whale sharks, I don't see why we can't get a giant squid!

We finally find a giant squid in the wild and you wanna put it in captivity?

I'm not saying hunt the thing down and cage it right this second. I meant eventually as in, at some point when we understand them more.

Frankly, I just think it would be cool to be in one of those 360 aquarium tubes and see a giant squid swim over me.

That's what gonna happen anyway. If there is any fascinating exotic creature on earth that gets discovered, the next thing what happens is that it gets killed or caged.

Since Rhodan got beaten by Mothra. The government had no other choice but to cross a shark and a whale while shooting their "secret radio wave x-cannon" at them.

I was under the assumption that giant squid only live in very deep water. Based on that, trying to put one in an aquarium would mean certain death for the squid.

Yeah, screw that capturing shit. My first thought was kill it and see what it tastes like. Calamari is so good.

Damn you for reminding me how delicious calamari is. I propose we hunt the giant squid and have the first annual Sydlexia.com Calamari Party.

If I change my major to marine biology quick enough then eventually I could secure funding to get a submersible and find one.

Yeah, octopus has to be prepared right or eaten fresh and raw, otherwise it tastes fucking terrible.

The best way to eat octopus is fresh raw tentacles. In South Korea some people actually eat baby octopuses alive. I bet they are delicious, but I wouldn't want the things getting their suckers hung up on the inside of my throat.

Geez, is it safe/sanitary to eat something like that, though?

Nothing is really safe to eat, as you can pretty much choke on anything and die. I would bet that some people got sick eating the live baby octopuses. Some people can eat raw stuff and not get sick, it just depends on if it is clean or not I guess.
