This is a thread to discuss things scary and things scarier. I saw a potato bug in jpeg format today. That was pretty freaky. However, I think the scariest things definitely are underwater. Do you agree? I think everything gets scarier underwater. Everything.

I am going to go with, humans are the scariest things. Sure, humans in the water have to deal with the scary things that live there, but at least we know exactly what they are thinking... "MMMM... food... oh wait, this isn't what I normally eat... but it is food."

On the other hand, have you watched Dexter? Pretty much everyone he kills is scarier to me than a fish that can't swim up to my house and attack me and my family.

Okay, jackasses, try to be clever, but {humans} is just a subset of {things on land}.

Land has spiders and snakes. It wins by default in my mind. Plus as has been said above humans live on land as well. Sharks and shit like that can only really kill one person at a time, humans have come up with ways to wipe out thousands of people at once. Also humans tend to not kill to survive, they kill just because they can. Nothing scarier than something that just kills for shits and giggles.

There are scary things on land, sure, but usually you have the ability to see the shit coming for you.

When you're in the deeper parts of the ocean you're basically being smothered by inky darkness, and the shit you do get to see is so alien compared to fish we're familiar with that you can't help but squirm when you see it.

the sky has dragons, dragons are pretty fucking scary

plus flying fortresses of doom, floating continents filled with strange wonders and dangerous creatures.

plus the sky could technically include outerspace and who knows whats out there... oh wait, black holes which can suck us all into oblivion, so fuck your oceans, and other terrain types

its the sky that rules supreme!!

Let's assume it's a mixture of the two!

First, I assumed that it was understood: Humans = On Land

Second, what about oceans in space?

Land is scarier because there are clowns. The underwater equivalent, the clownfish, is feeble in comparison.

The topic clearly states scariest on EARTH, which excludes space and extraterrestrial bodies that may be similar to the Earth.

As far as humans are concerned, they primarily live on land, but are also present in the sky and the oceans.

As far as a specific scary creature on Earth, I would have to vote for humans. Let me create a list containing some of the reasons why.

Rape
Sodomy
Incest
Genocide
Mutilation
Religion
Politics
Pollution
Psychological abuse
Pedophilia
Slavery
Bestiality
Coprophagia
Advertising
Torture
Racism
Bullying
Execution/Murder
Censorship
STUPIDITY

I think being in the sky is scarry, like on a plane or something but underwater are definetly the most disturbing creatures.

Science is so cool. Science, or as the right-wingers call it 'satanic liberal voodoo propaganda'.

I think underwater has to take it, but that doesn't mean things like bird-eating spiders don't freak me right the fuck out.

unfortunately this is only relegated to the earth, the sky is only allowed to include our atmosphere which gives sky power a huge disadvantage

Underwater! Namely: Pool drains, water snakes, and dead fish.

I'm not really a feline.

The inside of a volcano. While giant spiders attack you and a satellite fires laser beams down on you.
