I have to agree with this.

He also played Hitler in a movie and was fantastic.

It was a mini series. Rise of Evil or something. He was also badass as the crazy 'Daffy Duck' in The Beach. Frick'n good actor that bloke.

I forgot about Ewan McGregor! He'd be a great swordsman, especially seeing his work in the Star Wars prequels. The only difference is that the swords in Highlander aren't retractable (usually) and they don't glow (usually).

Sorry to revive this topic, but I just had a great idea: Christian Bale. Sure, he may not be Scottish, but he's Welsh, and could probably pull off an accent fairly well (after all, his American accent is flawless). He can also swordfight, as seen in Batman Begins. And it doesn't hurt that he and Adrian Paul look quite similar.

(Adrian Paul is the one on the right.)

I just had a great idea: Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Sure, he may not be Scottish, but he's American, and could probably pull off an accent fairly well (after all, his gay-American accent is flawless). He can also swordfight, as seen in Role Models and Kick Ass. And it doesn't hurt that he and Clancy Brown look quite similar.

EDIT: Whoa! We must have been struck by inspiration at the same time, Skinr!

OMG, this is awesome! If we had Christopher Mintz-Plasse we could possibly get Rick Moranis cast as his father, and then have a slight twist on "The Quickening" and call it "The Shrinkening". Rick's character can grow through a dramatic arc trying to explain this conundrum to the boy's mother. I see potential here.

And then the third film would have to actually be subtitled "The Apology".
