Make sure you guys check the rules at the top to avoid confusion. As always, PM me if you have a question.

Please do not PM him if you have a question. Rather post it in this thread because it is likely that others will have a similar question. I'd like the answer to be displayed where everyone can see because when I ask a question it's often ignored because it is deemed a joke and I'm tired of asking over and over and over again. Thank you.

Would you like to run this contest then?

I decided to run it because no one else even gave a hint that they wanted to, and you have said repeatedly that you trust me implicitly (in fact, that others do as well). If you've decided that you do NOT trust my judgement, then you're more than welcome to take it over yourself and do what you will.

As for my taking everything as a joke... that's only with you and Fig, because my listening to your "suggestions" is what caused me to have to restart the contest in its entirety. I shouldn't have listened, granted, but after the fact you should have left it well enough alone. I can't trust anything you say to be serious because when I did it fucked everything up.

Once again, you're more than welcome to take it over if you wish. Otherwise, just leave it alone. You're not in the forum battle this year anyway, I don't see why you would take such an issue with policies that don't concern you in the slightest.

Thanks for your input.

They concern anyone who's voting, like myself. I don't think it's fair to say anyone who isn't in the competition can't ask about the rules. Only people in the Battle are voting?

I didn't know when polls end, how long battles are, or what happens in a tie. Guess what? A lot of people probably don't. You answer people when they ask in the IRC, but not where anyone else who may wonder the same thing can see. I don't think it's odd to ask that the rules be displayed for everyone to see. If something controversial does come up, you'll have covered your ass by having the rules figured out beforehand. Also, I asked people not to PM you because earlier today I asked you a question several times about how long the polls were going and you refused to answer me. In case anyone else PMed you with the same question, I wanted to see the answer. I am holding my vote to let both teams try to win it, but if I don't even know when the poll closes how am I supposed to do that?

It's cool, though. It's very common for people, out of insecurity, to begin to resent those that are actually trying to help. Sure, I've thrown in some ball-busting along the way because we're friends, but most of my suggestions or concerns are legitimate. I see a lot of potential problems still to come, but I genuinely hope they don't happen and you don't have more issues brought on by your lack of preparation.

I mean, the name of this thread says "Now with Rules!". What an indication of how this thing wound up like it did. You don't find it ridiculous that some rules are just now being added to this thing when it's already started?

Good luck the rest of the way, man.

I have to say that this whole thing has been very confusing, and Klim hit the nail on the head on a lot of those things that have been confusing. I really did not even know who exactly was on my team even when the first round had already started.

Alright, look. If you're actually trying to help me, then I can appreciate that. I have close to zero experience running contests, so any help I can get is great. But when the first thing you suggest is a joke, how am I supposed to know that? I wanted to make it enjoyable for everyone, and I ended up with a policy of appeasement that went way too far. The ball busting thing is fine, but in moderation. I can't take that 24/7 when I'm trying to knuckle down and be serious about something for once.

All I'm saying is, I appreciate the fact that you're trying to help, but it'd be easier to take you seriously if you weren't constantly trying to trip me up as well. You say you've had legitimate concerns, questions, advice, whatever, and if that's true, then I'm sorry I didn't listen. But please try to understand it from my point of view: I had to restart this entire competition because I took something you and Fig said seriously. You don't think I'm going to be cautious after that?

I agree that I haven't made things very clear. That's a direct result of my never having hosted something like this before. When I forgot to clearly detail what the rules were, I made them stand out. When that wasn't enough, I made them clearly visible and separate from the rest of the original post. When that wasn't enough, I changed the title of the entire thread to let people know where to find the rules. I'm trying my hardest to rectify these problems (also, the "Now with Rules" thing is a joke. I've been trying to do that more, you know, seeing as I hang out with you so much on IRC). I simply do not know what to do, and I'm hesitant about following your suggestions. Or anyone else's, when it comes down to it.

I'm sincerely sorry that I couldn't be a perfect host. I wanted to make this enjoyable for everyone, but it seems like all I've managed to do is create a fucking mess. On top of that, because of my ineptitude, I've managed to get Forum Battles pulled forever. How do you think I feel about that?

If you aren't thinking "shitty", then you're probably not on the same page as me.

So, once again, I'm sorry I couldn't do this effectively. When no one else stepped up to the plate, I did instead. But now it's all going to shit, and I feel like it's slipping out of my hands more and more each day. I feel like a failure.

Drew, you had to restart this entire competition because you decided to run with things people told you to do (not just Klim and me) without thinking about them at all. We suggested really ridiculous things, and you accepted them. The contest was not ruined because we suggested ridiculous things, it was ruined because you didn't actually think through the things we were suggesting to you before you decided to go with them.

On the same train of thought: Klimbatize and I suggested lots of really bad ideas, so you're being careful about us, which makes sense. We aren't even suggesting things, though. Earlier today you kept refusing to answer me when I asked "So matches go for four days, with three of voting, right?". I guarantee you the Forum Battle will not be ruined by you clarifying the rules to someone, and with things like the people who were asking about what happens in the case of a tie, the Forum Battle will probably be better off because you will have actually thought about what to do. Ignoring legitimate questions and not clarifying things when people ask is just begging for the rest of the Forum Battle to be bogged down with more problems.

<Drew_Linky> Well, I've eaten vegetables all of once in my life.
