It's gonna be the exact same as every Tarantino movie, except a Western. The next one will be in fucking space.

I'll obviously check this out as I've never seen a Tarantino film that wasn't at least entertaining. Even his dumb ones don't feel like a waste of time.

Four Rooms is another Tarantino flick I'll mention is awesome.
Between this and The Hobbit I, it's looking like December is going to be a good movie month this year

My main beef is that they are just all similar themed, with pop culture references and not much else. I get that lots of movies do that, it's just not great entertainment to me. It's just borrowed themes from other films with added Tarantino-speak. I agree that they are all entertaining in some ways, just not OMG GONNA BE GREAT or even overly original like most people seem to think whenever he ejaculates another one of his vehicles for his coke fueled mania.

I'm inclined to agree with Woodzy. While I like his movies and haven't been disappointed yet, he is very formulaic. I'm starting to think he's becoming a parody of himself almost like Tim Burton. I think both of them have a checklist now for every movie they make that gives it their signature style instead of trying new things.

Also, I've never heard Tarantino referred to as "formulaic". I agree that most of his films have a similar feel, and you can almost always tell when you're watching one of his films because of the dialogue and direction, but I think that's more a sign of his uniqueness rather than him following a formula.

I don't see how anyone can think Inglorious Basterds, his last major film, was formulaic. I don't remember too many pop culture references in that. Hell, Death Proof, his film before that, wasn't formulaic either. Boring, sure, but not predictable.

Not formulaic as in predictable, I just meant it like his films always have touches that are identifiable to his movies. I know it's good to have a signature style but it doesn't really come off natural anymore. More like he does it his way for the sake of doing it his way. I'm not knocking him because Inglorious Basterds is one of his best. I also liked Death Proof so that makes me a bigger Tarantino fan than you.

I used to think Tarantino was brilliant. Then I saw Kill Bill Parts 1 and 2, which was so blatantly derivative and corny that I realized gee, this guy is kinda sorta really overrated. Plus he comes off as an egotistical prick in most of his interviews. Also, people read too much into his movies. You know what was in the briefcase in Pulp Fiction? Nothing in particular. It was just a fucking briefcase. And now there are fucking thesis papers on how brilliant the symbolism of the briefcase was and how the guy's soul was inside it and shit. Gimme a fucking break.

There's nothing that makes the average Tarantino movie better than say, Smokin' Aces or 3000 Miles To Graceland, other than they don't have the Tarantino name attached to them so reviewers are all LOL THIS SUX CUZ IT'S NOT TARANTINO.

So you dislike ALL his movies because 2 were bad? So, you liked Pulp Fiction but after watching Kill Bill you stopped liking it? That really doesn't make much sense and afterall, i'am grateful that there is a director like Quentin Tarantino because that means at least that there will be now and then a decent and original movie (compared to mainstream films) in the cinemas, with actual dialogues that go above standard hollywood scripts.

Maybe QT is a bit overrated, i would probably agree on that but he is still good. And Kill Bill isn't that bad. It's a little weird overall and i see that it feels sometimes like "7th Heaven" meets "Lady Snowblood" but in the end there is a lot worse out there. And his last movie "Inglorious Basterds" was the best i saw in a long time when it comes to mainstream movies.

And another question. If QT is overrated, who is really great director in your oppinion?

I am looking forward to this movie. I like anything that QT directs. He's one of my personal favorite directors of all-time.

Just saw the trailer when I went to go see Skyfall (which is odd, considering they're not supposed to show red band trailers during PG-13 movies). It looks pretty cool, although I've never heard of the series before.

I just saw the movie last night. I haven't gone out of my way to see Tarantino films, so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect as far as the plot progression went. As it was, the characters were all engaging and I can't say I was disappointed with a single thing in it. One of my favorite films this year.

saw this last night after work and i enjoyed it quite a bit. the characters were well written and engaging. nothing was really bad about it.

well, jamie foxx was too much of a bad ass, but other than that, i give it thumbs up

I'm inclined to concur with both of you. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, and Jackie Brown are all fantastic movies, but like Woodzy said, it agitates me to no end when Chin throws in the most esoteric of references. Kill Bill Volume 1 I remember enjoying a bit more than the second.
I've yet to see Inglorious Basterds, and I do wanna check Django. Despite some gripes, I do find his flicks entertaining for the most part, as do you.

I can't speak for anyone else, but he comes across as arrogant and racist. I really dislike racists, they should all just go die. I still consider him a good actor, I just can't support someone like him.
