I'd be willing to try that. Or, if such a thing exists, a registration that requires approval from me and gives the user a small box to fill in as to why they want posting access/who they are.
You could have instructions telling new users to e-mail you for manual approval.
How is that easier than what Syd suggested? That sounds like a pain in the ass.

The fact that the wiki has been overtaken by an address called "Gangsta's Paradise" wouldn't be half as depressing if it was a ytmnd file with the opening beat on a loop..

Vanilla Forums has a feature that allows you to setup an invite code where someone needs a special code along with the registration. It is great for a small personal forum, but the idea is that a site Admin shouldn't have to deal with shit that automation should fix for them.
