If that's the case, download and run this program: http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Well, this is just a shot in the dark, but I'm assuming you go to a lot of shady torrent and porn sites. Those things are crawling with viruses, and chances are something got past your anti-virus.
I have no idea how to fix it, I just wanted to say you probably do shady stuff at home Very Happy

Not on this machine. I use my iPhone and iPad other netbook* for that.

*I recently got another netbook that my brother used to own. I use it as a proxy and file server. Well, only the former, since I can't get Apache2's WebDAV implementation to work, and FTP is too insecure, blah blah blah...

I bet that would work for logging out quickly, but logging back in afterwards will become the new issue.

@Methid Man: Already tried a MBAM scan. It didn't find anything.

Okay, this issue seems to be getting worse. Just before I had to force my computer to shut down because it was taking forever to log out.

I should also mention that it uses Windows 7 Enterprise, if that helps in any way.

Login to the working user account, delete the one that doesn't work, recreate the currently broken profile.

That sounds more like a last resort action. But I will give it a go soon.

My laptop regularly gets stuck logging off. I actually thought I'd shut it off one day, went to put it in my bag to take to class three days later and it was still logging off. Then again the laptop is rather terrible and I've been meaning to reformat for months but haven't gotten around to it yet.

Well, managed to fix the logout issue.

However, since Windows is the gift that keeps on giving, another thing is not working (well, it has been for a while, but I never bothered to ask about it until now) is mapping WebDAV servers using the 'Map network drive' feature:

Meanwhile, on every other modern operating system ever, it works. And now that I have my own WebDAV fileserver, this is a rather big issue.

Once that is fixed, this machine will work perfectly*.

*Until Windows fucks something up again, which it will, eventually.
