This was a popular meme during the 2008 election:

So if Obama is Batman, that's really exciting news. Because in 2012...

THE LEGENDS ENDS!

Obama will be re-elected. He will have a fight on his hands if he faces Romney. He would annihilate Gingrich.

I believe it was Meghan McCain who said that if the Republicans nominate Gingrinch, the party is dead.

Also, Meghan McCain is hot.

Eh, she's Republican hot, I guess.

All the Republican candidates are pathetic. Ron Paul is the best of the lot, but he sucks in a lot of ways. There's no way Obama can lose.

I don't vote anyway, but if I could, I would hold out for the National Socialist candidate who's not a nutbar hick. I'd probably be waiting a long time.

Obama will lose when it's revealed that while Romney eats traditional foodstuffs, Obama consumes the bones of poor people in order to survive. Obama's approval ratings will further sink when his Latverian birth certificate surfaces.

I'm kinda bummed because I finally can vote but I don't really like any of the candidates. Maybe I'll just do eeny-meeny-miney-moe.

I prefer these Batman related images that came out in the wake of the Dark Knight:

I have the one on the right framed in my computer room with all my other Batman paraphernalia, and as the wallpaper on my mp3 player.

But see, those don't fit with Nolan's tagline for The Dark Knight Rises. What's great about my joke is that it forces people who have accepted Obama as their Dark Knight to also accept the logical conclusion of that arc.

Sorry for the double post, but here's a great article today that Mitt Romney wrote for USA Today, pegging the election in 2012 as one for a Society of Opportunity or a Society of Entitlements:

http://www.usatoday.com/news/opinion/forum/story/2011-12-19/romney-us-economy-entitlements/52076252/1

Also, Obama's ego has been flaring as of late. First example is him comparing himself to Teddy Roosevelt. Romney recently hit him for this:

http://www.politico.com/blogs/burns-haberman/2011/12/you-sir-are-no-teddy-roosevelt-108223.html

Then, in a 60 minutes interview, he claims his accomplishments are superior to all former presidents except three:

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1211/70684.html

Interesting stuff to consider for everyone. I just wish 60 Minutes didn't edit out the above comment out of the broadcast, leaving it in only for the internet version. I would think the general public would have a strange reaction to that strange comment.

Regardless, it's time for another vacation for Obama. Didn't the media critize Dubya for taking so many vacations? Where's the news media on how frequently Obama takes off from the job & plays golf as often as he can? I'm taking almost two weeks off for Christmas myself, but I'm just a lowly paralegal who doesn't have instability in the Korean peninsula to worry about, not to mention the struggling economy.

Yes, because the President can do anything about the economy while Congress is on vacation, and he'll completely ignore what's going on in the world while he's celebrating Ramadan.

George Bush took somewhere between 879 and 1002 vacation days. It depends on who's counting. That 879 is from Bush's records who didn't factor in a lot of "working holidays".

Obama has taken 82 days off during his first term. There's no comparison.

If you watch FOX News, it seems like he's on vacation a lot because they're sure to point it out every single time, talk about it hourly on all of their editorial and "news" shows, and make it seem like a President taking a vacation is unheard of.

Also, I don't fucking get the Obama/Joker thing. Is he an anarchist sociopath because he's a socialist class warrior?

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

I think it's because people are retarded nerds and like to plaster Joker makeup on everything like they're the first person to do it.

I remember the first time I got to vote and being kind of excited about it, but now I just struggle to even care if I go out and vote. I really hope Obama doesn't get re-elected but I can't justify voting for any of the worthless Republican candidates just to hope he doesn't get a second term. I'd vote independent or do a write-in but if I do that I might as well not even go to the polls. Maybe if the parties nominated someone who actually deserved to be President I'd feel compelled to get out there. Basically I just get to debate which party is the lesser of two evils next year, and vote based on that.

Obama has taken 82 days off during his first term.

Here's the thing, Bush spent 487 days at Camp David, 490 days at his Crawford ranch, and 43 days in Kennebunkport.

Camp David isn't a vacation, and a lot of the time at his ranch wasn't really either. Did Bush seem spend a lot of time out of the White House? Absolutely. But not being in the White House isn't tantamount to a vacation.

I'm not going to criticize Obama for vacations, either. Being president is a 24/7 job, and unlike normal people, a president's vacation can be cut short at any time. If I'm on vacation and there's an emergency at work, too fucking bad; I'm on vacation. A president doesn't have that leisure.

Also, keep this in mind: The average American gets 133 days off in a year, including weekends, holidays, and vacation time. So even if we are to accept that Bush took 1,002 days off in 8 years, he still worked more than the average person does over the same period of time.

I wasn't attacking Bush for his time off. I was countering Cattivo's point that Obama takes a lot of time off, as if he was on the level of Bush. I was correcting misinformation.

Fair enough.

I agree that presidents, like all people, are entitled to time off.
