Anyone using the iOS can now play Chrono Trigger. Just to clarify, it's the DS version with controls obviously altered to assist the different control scheme.

I'm sure they want at least $10 for it, which is $5 more than I'm willing to pay for an iOS game.

Really? You're gonna argue with me over a fucking penny? Christ in Heaven. $9.99 = $10.00, as far as any reasonable person is concerned.

Anyway, I figured it would be at least $10, because that's what they charge for the Final Fantasy games they have up there. And I suppose $10 is a MUCH better deal for Chrono Trigger than it is for Final Fantasy I. You certainly get more story, and a better story.

But if you have an iPhone, forget about it. I have come to the realization that iOS games are rarely developed anymore with the iPhone in mind. They are developed pretty much solely with the iPad in mind. When I got the iPhone 4S, I realized I still had a balance on my iTunes account as that I would be able to run games that my old iPhone (which couldn't update past iOS 3) couldn't run. And I have a neurotic obsession that EVERY page on my iPhone must be completely full at all times - and iOS 5 has more "can't delete this" icons built into it than iOS 3 - so I bought some high-rated games.

One of them was called Alphadia. It's significantly cheaper than any Squenix iOS game, and just as good. But again, good luck playing it on an iPhone. The turn-based combat works fine, but using the cheesy little touch-based D-pad they give you can get pretty fucking frustrating on the iPhone.

I also bought Ghosts N' Goblins. Good fucking luck playing that successfully on the iPhone, unless you're fucking Paganini.

Haha, sometimes I wonder if all those "journalists" and "experts" who talk about iPhone-gaming at all time, really plays the games themselves. My experience is similar to yours, that it is (with a few exceptions) almost always more hassle than it is worth to play on the iPhone. Which is why I still buy dedicated portable gaming machines from Sony and Nintendo Smile
