He is perhaps most famous for playing Baron Munchausen in Terry Gilliam's The Adventures of Baron Munchausen. He will be missed.

Anne McCaffrey died today at 85.

I never read her books, but I did play the dreadful Dreamcast Dragon Riders: Chronicles of Pern game. I think the setting was interesting and deserved a better game than it got.

My mom loved her books, though. Maybe I should read some.

Eh, I never cared for McCaffrey's writing, the Pern books always felt more like what teenage girls who think they read fantasy read instead of actual fantasy.

If anything were notable about her, it'd be that she was the first female author to receive the Hugo Award.

I read Anne McCaffrey when I was a little girl. Sad As I grew older I moved on to more "serious" fantasy but her writing was still a part of my childhood. Very sad to hear of her passing.

Well, he's either being very surprised right now, or starting an eternal lack of consciousness.

Yes and disagreeing with him is fine, but jumping in with pointing finger doesn't do anything.
