XIII was first turned into a game in 2003. A cel-shaded first-person shooter, XIII (pictured above) starred David Duchovny in the titular role of XIII, an amnesiac who works to uncover the plot of a conspiracy. It was quite the apt role for someone who played Fox Mulder for the better of a decade on The X-Files. The XIII comics themselves were based upon The Bourne Identity novel released in 1980.

Details on the new game were not forthcoming. Given that it'll be available on iPhone and iPad, one wouldn't expect it to be an FPS like its predecessor, which wasn't regarded all that highly at the time of its release and was developed and publisher by Ubisoft.

Although XIII started out in 1984, it's still around today -- new volumes are sporadically released, the most recent of which came out in 2009. A TV miniseries starring Val Kilmer aired in 2008 on NBC in the United States, and another TV series starring Stuart Townsend and Aisha Tyler is ongoing in Canada and France.

i think we have a couple of fans on the forums. just figured i should share. its pretty weak that it will only be on the fucking ipad & fucking iphone.

Fucking A! I loved that first game.

EDIT: this is why it's important to read. I'm going with a "Meh" on this one. It doesn't sound like something being taken very seriosuly

I had high hopes for this then I saw it was for PC which is okay, Mac okay, iPhone and iPad. What the hell? Give it back to Ubisoft and have them do a major console release. THE GAMES DESERVE BETTER!

And it's funny they included the 2008 miniseries... it was terrible and had parts that were pretty much the same as X-Men Origins....
