I picked it up last night. This game is fucking addictive. You can spend hours upon hours on one level... one move...
I have never played a turn-based tactics game that previews your moves but also makes you assume for your enemies.
* Gameplay: 9/10 - Once you understand the controls, the game just works and it is easy to use. I wish you could turn around and see from different perspectives.
* Difficulty: 9/10 - the more you think, the better you will do, but you MUST think. It is hard to become permanently stuck, however you won't win if you don't put some effort in.
* Replayability 9/10 - Even the campaign levels are randomly generated scenarios. It is never the same
* Graphics 7/10 - They do the job. The game isn't fancy and doesn't push boundaries, however it has a consistant well polished theme and it works. In level graphics are good, but limited. Out of level graphics are frustratingly 2D and feel more like an Anime Story.
* Music ?/10 - I honestly haven't paid attention
* Audio 1/10 - Out of the levels I can deal with text only, however in a level I want voice communication... This is where the fact that it is an indie game is pointed out. There is no voice audio in campaigns. Reading the chitchat when the characters are talking to you is annoying in between turns.
* Fun 10/10 - damn thing is a ton of fun and I enjoy it greatly. I would highly recommend it to anyone, especially since you can pay the price you desire.
A word of caution... the in-game tutorials don't exactly clarify some things.
* Ducking under cover protects you, but you can't shoot.
* Standing > Aiming > Moving > Back Turned
* When in target range speed of weapon - Shotgun > Machine Gun > Sniper
* You can previous enemy movement by assigning them actions based on your assumptions
