				From rpgamer:

While Sony's pre-TGS conference was mostly remarkable for being unremarkable, it did provide one surprise announcement. Square Enix's Shinji Hashimoto came to the stage primarily to discuss some games that will be released in the PlayStation Vita's launch window, but he provided a surprise announcement before he left. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the release of Final Fantasy X, Square Enix will be releasing a new HD version of that game. Square Enix has not announced any details about whether Final Fantasy X HD will just be a graphical upgrade or a more extensive remake, so the only thing known about it is that it will be coming to both the PS3 and the PS Vita.

Yeah...gonna pass on this thing. Not that I can play it to begin with.

Why X instead of literally any other game that came before it? Was there really such a huge market of people wishing for an HD FFX? I find that hard to believe.

Yeah, this game wasn't that fantastic. Maybe they'll make it better in the remake... maybe
And whatever happened to FF Versus XIII? Is that still in the works?

This game still looks good, it really doesn't need an HD remake. If they wanted to a pick a FF game that needs an HD remake they should have gone with FF7, that game looks like total ass.

Yeah that's still being developed.

Why is it necessary? Seriously, instead of rehashing this crap put some effort in and make a decent FF.

FFX still looks decent by today's standards. why not remake...

FFVI - One of the 2 greatest Final Fantasy games and only got ports to GBA and PS1. FFIV has had both of those as well as a DS remake, a huge PSP port, and a Wii sequel.

FFVII - Arguably the most requested remake. SqureEnix once said this would take several years to remake due to the way the towns were made. So...why not get started now, SquareEnix?

FFIX - I don't have a good reason why, other than the fact that this is an amazing game.

I dont mind it. The game was fun and it will give me a reason to play it again. I still wish they would remake 7. I would have to quit the forums until i finished it

The reason why they picked FFX is that they don't have to do it all from scratch like with FFVI or FFVII. This will only be a HD-port like the God of War-games of the upcomming MGS-titles. An easy cash-grab from Square Enix. If they were going to remake Final Fantasy VII they had to build a completely new game, which would in essence be as big of a project as Final Fantasy XIII or Versus XIII - both which uses like five years in development, so yeah.

Have no hype for this (or the Vita) though.

I just hope they do something about the lvl up system, it has kept me from playing the game again, even though I liked the story ._.

Hell, put FFX-2's system in it, have Tidus changing clothes Sailor Moon style, make some fan girls squee or something

*image just pops into head* Sehk I may have to kill you know, after I run some hot water around my brain.

Could someone... you know... explain the story to me? I mean I played up until the Battle with Seymore on the mountains and I gave up. Then went to Wikipedia and it still made no sense to me.

Ahhh I think that's why I stopped playing too, Sehk. I made a wrong turn on the tiger dude's level up grid thing and then ever new sphere he got was just backtracking through spheres he'd already gotten. It was such a waste and I remember being all frustrated by it.

I loved FFX but agree it's not needed for a remake.

Will I buy it?

Yep.

Sony did the remake thing w/God of War I & II.

also with the Sly Cooper games, the tomb raider games.

and they are doing it w/splinter cell, metal gear solid, ico/shadow of the colossus, etc etc.

i think this remake would be better appreciated if it was a compilation of more than just one game. just my 2 cents.

A grand total of only one Tomb Raider game has been a remake: Tomb Raider Anniversary. Everything else released recently have been completely brand new games; a reboot of the series, if you will, with a new timeline and mythos and whatnot.

Yeah, that guy's tough. Probably the hardest fight in the game, though the bosses that follow aren't exactly pushovers too.

I'm not sure exactly what is confusing you on the story, it's pretty clear what's going on. But here's a quick rundown of what they reveal after that point.

[SPOILER:63a1f31fc2]Tidus (and Jecht) aren't real. They, as well as old Zanarkand, are kept alive by the dreams of the Fayth, inside of Sin, and crossed into the real world of Spira (Jecht by mistake, Tidus because Auron brought him).

When the party gets to Zanarkand, it's in ruins. They make their way through, meet Yunalesca, and she reveals that the Final Aeon can't defeat Sin - Sin is simply the armor a summoner called Yu Yevon wears to exact his revenge upon Spira after Zanarkand (the city of summoners) was destroyed by Bevelle (a city of machina users). The Final Aeon will destroy the armor, at the cost of the summoner's life, but the armor will reform...the summoner chooses one of their Guardians as the person to become the Final Aeon, and after about 10 years, that Aeon becomes the new Sin. A flashback scene shows Jecht volunteering to become the Aeon for Braska, then a later one shows Auron being killed by Yunalesca when he returns after Brasca dies seeking revenge, revealing Auron as an unsent. Upon learning that the Final Aeon cannot truly defeat Sin, Yuna refuses the Final Aeon, and the group attacks and kills Yunalesca.

From there, realizing that Jecht as Sin still has some of his mind (as evidenced by various scenes throughout the game), they devise a plan to enter Sin, fight and defeat Jecht, defeat Yu Yevon, and put an end to Sin to good. Doing so, though, causes Tidus to disappear.

In case you're curious, Seymour's goal was to actually become Sin - he was aware of the truth behind Sin. He wanted to marry Yuna so he could become her Final Aeon.

Thanks for the Rundown Satsui!

Yeah, I never really pumped up Khimahri to the level that would be needed to beat Seymore since the game made it you had to use him in that fight aggravated me.

There is also Tomb Raider Trilogy. http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B002I0J5JW/ref=nosim/cheapassgam08-20
On topic. I always really liked X, but as others have said, it still looks decent and doesn't necessarily need an "upgrade".

I will probably end up getting this at some point though.
