I very much appreciated the high degree of accuracy, but I think it could have done without the scanlines. Anyway, this is video game references done right. Nothing about it felt contrived (except for the scanlines). It's what Scott Pilgrim shoulda been.
I actually have dreams like this once in a great while, but they're exclusively SNES RPG-flavored and not nearly as elaborate.
