I am looking for the adapter to be able to use an NES Game Genie in a Top Loader NES. I have been so happy to have a top loader (not a clone) NES, and not having the mess with replacing the damn 72 pin connector. Except that not only do I never see the adapter posted on ebay ever anymore, but in general the handful of time I have seen it it was going for waaaay too much coin for it is really worth, or at least to me. All of that being said I am looking for one, and if not a suggestion on how to use an NES Game Genie on a Top Load NES, and no you can't just jam it in there, I know I have tried before.

I don't know where you can get one unfortunately, but I have another toploader-related problem that you might know the answer too, and that is how to get a composite-output from it. Mine only has RF-output, but surely there should be a way to get a better picture?

Outside of an Rf Modulator to then be able to hook it up via AV cables, the only other way would be modding the board and adding the jacks, but good luck, I mean if you can do that to a Genesis / Mega Drive, although only AV and S-Video, I suppose it is possible

Get an old CRT. Non-HD consoles look better on non-HD TVs.

This is very true, I have all of my Retro Consoles hooked up to a Panasonic Tau Flat Screen CRT, looks so much better on there then on my HD set

I'm almost 100% positive when I got a TopLoader back in the late 90's I just cracked open the game genie and attached it to the cart and everything worked. The main issue was that it was hard to get it out afterwards. Again I don't know if this was a dream, an idea, or if it actually happened, but I think I just left the game genie connection in the nintendo and just skipped it if I didn't want to use it. Let me know if I'm insane. Also back then Game Genies were really easy to come by not sure about now.

I have heard that you can force the game genie in as hard as you can and it will work, tried that, code screen works, but not a single game will play, just black screen, but it plays like a dream without the game genie, I have tried this with 2 different game genies as well

There's also super rare toploader NESs that were modified to have AV output by Nintendo when people sent them in to complain. As AV out was not the standard for most TVs at the time the number of these believed to be floating around is low.

Just get a regular NES and build a Nintoaster!
