Definitely looking forward to a sequel. Hopefully the missions are less "Collect 1 Million random drops".

Very stoked on the sequel, I had been waiting on them to announce this shit forever.
Can't wait though, honestly the "lame" missions never bothered me too much since I had so much fun fucking around with all of the different guns.

I really hope that game is more like the original Borderlands and less like the DLC.
I loved the original playthrough and moving along with the ability to use jump points between areas. I really hated that in the DLC you always start in the same place and in some cases have to move for 10 minutes before getting near the beginning of a mission.

As long as those fucking drone spawners from the General Knox aren't in it, I'm in.

Sad confession: Still haven't beaten Borderlands or any of the DLC.

I bought this in a steam sale a while ago and i only got round to playing it recently when my mate bought the GOTY edition on steam sale (it wasn't out when i got borderlands).
So we had a good laugh playing through the original but he had the dlc and i didn't. He asked me to get it and i told him i wouldn't 1. because of the price and 2. because the game got so boring.
It literally became drive around, shoot 10 guys/collect 6 things and then return.
It just became so monotonous and boring so much by the end of the game i couldn't stand it. Also the final boss was a cake walk.
Not to say it's a bad game, it's a good game but the same old stuff over and over got really dull.
So hopefully it will be different with the new game, i'm sure me and him will play through it.

Since Gearbox handed off the Brothers in Arms franchise to a bunch of fucking 12 year-olds, my hype for a new version of that game has been transferred to Borderlands 2. Until around the time I started seeing a lot of hacked weapons appearing in the game, I had a blast with Borderlands. I've grown tired of competitive multiplayer over the years in favor of good co-op games (Left 4 Dead, Bulletstorm, etc.), and Borderlands was a blast to play with friends. Coordinating weapons and powers in the main game and its DLC was really fun, and I hope to see game that's as fun (but more secure) than Borderlands 1.

Great post, I share these same sentiments.
I really hated seeing all the hacked weapons and shields and shit, people are so lame.
