First off this game is amazing. Looking at the back of the case put me off a little bit and until yesterday I just shook it off until I saw it New for $9.99 at GameStop. Best purchase ever.
This is like a culmination of all the old school RPG & Action/RPG classics on Nintendo, and has some very blatant replications of characters from other games. If you like Legend of Zelda or Link to the Past, you owe it to yourself to pick this game up. You can make your own sprite, which is very time consuming to make a good one or use one of the 50+ pre made heroes as you're character.
I definitely recommend it for anyone with a PS3.

That looks pretty neat, wish I had a ps3. Making a character sounds like fun.

This game is great! One of my favorites by far, a respectful Zelda clone that doesn't take itself too seriously and has a lot of humor that only an old school RPG gamer would get. Great choice Douche.

I have literally not been able to put it down since initially popping it in last night. I am itching to play it at work right now, this is definitely one of my favorite games!

This game annoys me. I mean, don't get me wrong, I love the gameplay and I love the art style. But the fact that this game isn't a cross-platform release is fucking beyond fucking retarded. There is absolutely NO reason a game about a blocky guy wandering through a blocky world in a blatantly retro style is only available on Blu-Ray. Yeah, that's really fucking good use of HD graphics right there.
I'm going to hold out hope that this game (or a sequel) eventually see release on the Wii U. The tablet would make character design a fuckton easier.
While not a logical reason, the creators, From Software, seem to basically be pro Sony. They have a long history with them. Personally I wish it were for other systems so others could experience how fun this game is, but wouldn't it be a little weird for Nintendo to allow such a blatant satire on Zelda to be published on their system?

Yeah, I don't understand why this is not on the Wii already. One of the few games on the PS3 I really want to play.

On the contrary Douche, I think a Zelda rip-off/homage would sell better on a platform where the genre has an established fanbase. Plus Nintendo is more receptive to parody/copying these days.
Look at Giana Sisters DS. The original game was taken out of production because Nintendo threatened legal action. Meanwhile, they were more than willing to let the DS game onto their handheld.
yeah. it sold terribly. even though it was released as a budget title from the get go @ $39.99

I would play this if it were available for, say the Wii or 3DS.

Yeah, which is a shame. It frequently makes PS3 top games lists, as well PS3 hidden gems lists and underrated games lists.

Agreed. Heck, if I could justify buying a PS3, it'd be the first game I'd pick up. But between Wii, 3DS, DS, and XBox 360, I simply don't have the time or resources to devote to a PS3. Sooner or later I'll need a Blu-Ray player though...
I always wanted to get this, but every time I saw it the price was $39.99. At $9.99, this seems to be a steal.

For those who don't have a PS3...
Start at 30 Seconds.
This game does look cool. It would be a huge shame for it to remain platform independent. A game like this would sell like crazy as a digital download no the Wii/360/Steam. Don't the authors like money? I mean... I like money... I would sell it.

I'm pretty sure the publishers of the game had concerns about the Wii's hardware being able to handle a game of this magnitude.

It's called an Exclusive title, maybe you should get a PS3 Considering they were only planning on selling like 20, 000 copies of this game in America, 160K as of October last year isn't to shabby. I really wonder how many people haven't picked it up because the back of case has pictures that look so misguided. Lastly this game is well worth $39.99, I would have owned this a long time ago had I known.

it totally is. so many swords to collect (if youre into that sword of thing; a really long sidequest that goes thru the whole game; 3 minigames; funny dialogue)
i think this was my 3rd PS3 game purchase. i bought this a while ago after Undeath posted about this.

I will get a PS3 sooner or later, and this game is probably the first one I will get. I agree with Syd that I think it would have sold more to the established Zelda-fanbase on the Wii though.

I don't think the Zelda fanbase that needed to be reached for this game, would only be Wii owners.
3D Dot was based more on the older Zelda titles. No matter which current gen console you have, you owned an NES and played LoZ, and there's a fair chance you owned and played Link to the Past. Someone who has played Windwaker or Twilight Princess isn't going to get the same connection even if they are a Wii Zelda Fan. Fans of this style of Zelda, span all 3 consoles equally I'd say.

My Dad got this for his PS3. Some of the character creations out there for it are pretty nifty.

But Rydog, there's a good chance that Wii Zelda fans have played the old Zeldas on the Virtual Console, not to mention those ports on the GBA.
Exclusive title means nothing. RE4 was an exclusive Game Cube title, but it found its way to the PS2.

I'd say a majority of the people downloading LoZ have played it before, not to mention emulation kind of makes it available to anyone, not just Wii owners.

You've got a point, there. It really shouldn't be a PS3 exclusive, but the universe can be cruel sometimes.
