I didn't see a thread for this, so.

Archer is an animated, half-hour comedy set at the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS), a spy agency where espionage and global crises are merely opportunities for its highly trained employees to confuse, undermine, betray and royally screw each other. The series features the voices of H. Jon Benjamin as suave master spy "Sterling Archer," whose less-than-masculine code name is "Duchess"; Jessica Walter as his domineering mother and boss, "Malory"; Aisha Tyler as his ex-girlfriend, "Agent Lana Kane"; George Coe as his aging-but-loyal butler, "Woodhouse"; Chris Parnell as ISIS comptroller and Lana's new love interest, "Cyril Figgis"; and Judy Greer as Malory's lovesick secretary, "Cheryl." |
Basically, it's Frisky Dingo set in the Cold War. For whatever reason, it's not on Adult Swim. Rather, it's on FX where it gets more freedom with language and sexuality. Watch here or Thursdays at 10:00.

I would say it is a somewhat acquired taste, but I find it pretty enjoyable.

If it's an acquired taste... I've acquired it. Best new show in a long time.

Thou, because I am wroth, be not dismayed, for I shall win the strife, whoever circle round within for the defence. This their insolence is not new, for of old they used it at a less secret gate, which still is found without a bolt. Above it thou didst see the dead inscription; and already on this side of it
descends the steep, passing without escort through the circles,
One such that by him the city shall be opened to us. |

I didn't think much of Frisky Dingo but I agree that this is one of the best new shows in a while.

I didn't like Dingo too much. Archer seems more up my ally anyway.

It's made by the guys responsible for Sealab 2021, and it shows.
If you liked Sealab, you'll like Archer.

Probably. The official website has four episodes up so you can easily spend two hours to catch up and see if it's for you.

BUMP
Holy shit your right, the main character when drawn from the side can be seen in the episode where Captain Murphy gets a bunch of tourists to come down to Sea Lab. He's the jittery guy who wants a drink all the time.

It's the same formula as modern family guy, where everyone is just a rotten asshole to each other. but because it's on a more content liberal channel it's funnier.
It's way better if you watch it with multiple people. If I watched it by myself the first time I probably would have hated it.

I saw it in a hospital room when I was staying with my girlfriend after she had gotten a tumor removed from her hip, we both thought it was good, but she might have liked it because of the morphine...

Archer is fucking hilarious and sort of the evolution of Frisky Dingo. Anything with H. Jon Benjamin has my attention but the rest of the cast really makes it enjoyable. I've only seen the first season but the DVD has yet to get old to me, I still laugh just as hard at jokes I've heard a dozen times.

I love The Honey Pot episode
"I've developed a proprietary compound that may help..."
"And what? It makes you gay?"
"Dunno, it just started human testing...by slipping it into Danny the intern's coffee..."
"Danny's DEFINITELY feeling something..."

I loved the 1st and 2nd Season of Archer but found the 2nd season much funnier. Don't get me wrong, the 1st was hilarious as well.
But the 2nd Season, The Eco-Terrorist Episode, and the Episode where Archer has Breast Cancer and puts the Irish through the Family Feud Style game had me fucking rolling.
Clip from the Family Feud style game, and it won't ruin the episode. I wish it was the full Family Feud clip but we'll just have to live with this.

Atma, you're dead on. Season 2 was miles better than the already superb season 1. Easily my favorite new show within the past few years.
