They should make Sephiroth the exclusive character. Sephiroth should be a hidden character in every game.
Besides, he's already got a finishing move. |
What? Jump down and stab you in the stomach while a bunch of fanboys cry and drink poison kool-aide in the corner?

That, or he can show whoever he's about to finish some FFVII fanfiction he found on the internet.
On second thought, that might be too brutal and graphic for Mortal Kombat.

Master Chief would be terrible as a MK character and I'm sick of people saying that the 360 version should have Master Chief or the Gears Of War Guy as the exclusive character. I'd rather have no exclusive than one of them. Microsoft Studios doesn't make any games whose characters would translate well to Mortal Kombat. But Microsoft does still own Rare, so a Killer Instinct character would have been kinda cool.
I'd be fine with Green Lantern. Maybe not my favorite DC character, but I can understand Warner Bros., who owns Netherrealm Studios, wanting to hype up its upcoming movie, and green is the primary color in the 360 logo. So it would work.

I would just rather see them bring back more MK characters than do an exclusive. Master Chief, Hal Jordan and anyone else outside of MK continuity have about zero percent to actually do with the damn game, and it's not going to improve anything IMO. This isn't goddamn Soulcalibur.

Yeah, that's true as well.
Nintendo actually got some cool exclusive MK characters over the years. The Wii version of Armageddon had Khameleon, but even cooler was that the GCN version of Deception got Shao Kahn and Goro.

the master chief would definitely not make sense in that new MK game. but you know who would? the arbiter, or any of the elites, especially if they give him that plasma sword.

Yeah what aeonic said, MK is it's own distinct universe and throwing in other random characters doesn't feel right. That's what like MVC3 and Smash Brothers and stuff like that is for, we don't need more of it.
Heh, Skorpion in Smash Bros would be cool.

I nearly flipped shit when my buddy showed me a Master Chief look-a-like in Dead Or Alive for the 360... It was also one of the slowest characters to use in a fighting game series that's supposed to be fast pace...

I really feel like they should make the 360 exclusive character Chumlee from Pawn Stars.

If anyone hasn't preordered this yet and wants it, choose your destiny:
Preorder with GameStop and get a DLC code for Classic Scorpion.
Preorder with Amazon and get a DLC code for Classic Reptile.
Preorder with Best Buy and get a DLC code for Classic Sub-Zero.
These codes have been hyped as "exclusive", but I am pretty sure that they are only in exclusive in that you're getting the character for free. I would be very surprised if all three characters and more were not made available as purchasable DLC at some point down the line.
I went with Amazon, not because I like Reptile the best, but because Amazon is tax-free and is offering 99 cent launch day shipping on the game. Ordering with Amazon also gets you a free digital rental of the original Mortal Kombat movie, which is lame to begin and even lamer since I already own the movie.

Mortal Kombat 3 and UMK3 were good games, but I couldn't stand the cheap AI. Depending on who you play as, and who you played against, there'd be no chance of winning because the AI would constantly spam-combo and counter everything you do.

MK has always been about cheap AI though. I hate how Tekken's boss AI has gotten significantly cheaper in the last couple games.

That was the worst. They really toned it down since they went 3D.

Yeah the Hammer Guy at the end is ridiculous.

Onaga from MK Deception was kind of a bastard, as far as 3D MK bosses go, so was the sub boss in Dead Alliance, Moloch. Actually, so was Goro in MK4. They all had tank status and would just cut through your attacks like butter. Even of your attack hit and damaged them, they'd still lay right into you.

Only played the demo, but it was awesome. I can't see it being a bad buy, but then again, I haven't played the full game, so...

Friend of mine bought it, and we had a blast with it. I like how the game feels like a straight-up fight like the old Soul Calibur games, where it's just two unique characters smacking the piss out of each other in a balletic, back-and-forth martial arts duel. I was getting kind of tired of the over-the-top 2d fighters lately, and this game really got its hooks in me.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind. |

Best Mortal Kombat game since II. It's pretty balanced, and cheap AI only really kicks in when you're fighting Shao Khan, as it should. Online's actually really fun, too.

Played through Story Mode back and forth with a buddy who bought it, I'm definitely picking this one up.
Has anyone else noticed a distinct lack of killing in this one? There sure are a lot of No I will not kill him moments in the Storyline....

Sorry for being late, but I got this off of Amazon on launch and it is freaking awesome. It's the best fighting game I have played since either the latest installment of Guilty Gear or KoF2002UM. This coming from an SNKbot is pretty surprising as well, since at first I wasn't expecting anything more than a fun game that relies on content that's good for about a week or two like the games between DA-Armageddon.
Tag battles are really fun too btw.
