Yeah sure Adventure 1 and 2 are fun until you remember that the fun parts are overshadowed by added characters, bad cutscenes, bad camera movement, horrible voice-acting and mini games that make you hulk out.

I don't think it's just talking that was bad about the games' stories. It was having to watch long-ass, badly-acted cutscenes about the power of friendship or some crap. Why not just have Robotnik (I refuse to say Eggman, because that is a stupid name) say "I'm going to take over the world" and Sonic's all like "no," and Tails is like "Yeah, you tell him?"
I'd like to see somebody out-of-house develop a Sonic game, as Sonic Team just doesn't understand how goddamned embarrassing it is to be an adult playing some of these games.

Aside from Sonic Rush, I can't remember a good Sonic game in the past five years.
Well, Sonic 4 wasn't all that bad, I suppose. |
Sounds like somebody hasn't played Sonic Colors!
Also, Sonic 4 was a trainwreck. Looking forward to this, though. Odds are it'll be a shitton of classic levels done in the Sonic Colors style.

I've been enjoying the series Extra Credits on The Escapist lately, and just caught this one. It's worth watching the whole episode, but if you want to see their opinions on Sonic as game developers, then fast foward to 3:17

The only thing I hear at the time being is Sonic fanboys whining about how they have to redesign their "Original Characters" to fit Sonic's "new" style.
And yes, that's supposed to be the irony.

I don't understand why Sega would make another 360/PS3 game. Every Sonic game that's been available on 360/PS3 has been terrible. Even Sonic 4. Especially Sonic 4!
Sega has made two Sonic games in the last several years that actually worked: Sonic & The Secret Rings and Sonic Colors, both on Wii. Stick to one of those formulas, because they work.
Besides, Sonic is too kiddy for 360/PS3. FPS or GTFO. |
Sega might know we didn't think they be making another shitty sonic game, but that's not going to help them since we know they ARE making another shitty sonic game.
STRANGE, ISN'T IT?!?!?

I lost faith in Sonic Team a long time ago. I'll take Sonic 1 Megamix any day.

I'm also intrigued, but also I have a bad feeling they'll fuck up this somehow.

They'll probably introduce some terrible gameplay gimmick, like make him turn into a vampire or something.

I just don't get the point. They might as well have just only made the classic Sonic portions and made it episode 2 of Sonic 4. Instead, they just combined two crappy Sonic games into one crappy Sonic game.

the 2D version looks cool. its a 3D environment, but its distinctly 2D gameplay.
the 3D version looks a bit disorienting. it looks very pretty & cool, but not that intriguing to me.

If it includes 3D versions of classic Sonic levels, I'll definitely check it out. The classic-style gameplay might be a nice touch, but I'm curious to see how they handle the physics.

BUMP
this game finally got a release date
| Quote: |
Sega have announced a final set of release dates for some of their upcoming Nintendo 3DS games. Some of these dates are the same as previously reported, but others (like Crush 3D) have been changed.
Shinobi – November 15th (U.S.), November 11th (EU)
Sonic Generations – November 22nd (U.S.), November 25th (EU)
Crush 3D – January 10th (U.S.), January 13th (EU)
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympics – February 14th (U.S.), February 10th (EU)
Another Sega 3DS game slated for 2012 is Rhythm Thief and the Emperor’s Treasure. That game will be released in “early 2012” but doesn’t have a release date yet. |
