Let's discuss gear, musical preferences and such. Who plays what and for how long? Anybody currently playing in a band? If so, post them up here. Let us discuss!

I'm a percussionist. I've played for nearly 16 years now. I own a couple of different kits, but my newest is a DW Performance Kit Black Mirra. It's a 100% maple shell constructed with their HVX technology. It's got a nice big 24in kick and produces a nice fat tone. It's a 4 peice and was surprized they shipped these kits out with snares. It's a beautiful finish.

I've had my ends and outs with a bunch of local bands around the STL area and currently lay professional studio tracking for solo musicians at 12 Bar Studios. It's a nice little side gig and a good way to get out and meet new musicians.

Alowihus you play Trowel? That's pretty hardcore!

I ruined my Ibanez Destroyer by covering it with Aqua Teen Hunger Force stickers. Sad

Anyone else play a Bottle Cap Stick Shaker Thingy?

Ross, did you ever record Canada!? Razz

Oh wait, in all seriousness, has anyone ever played a Fender Jagstang? I've heard they suck, but have always wanted to test one out. Confused

I remember trying out a Jagstang once back when they were first coming out. I love how a Jaguar plays so it felt pretty nice. It just looked stupid as all hell to me. Plus, anyone who played Nirvana or tried to emulate Kurt Cobain was subject to ridicule and rejection. I never understood this. We all liked the band, but never covered any of their songs.

Sounds like a pretty good set up DW. I started playing percussion when I was 8. School band, jazz band, etc. By the time I stopped playing, I had what was basically a Mapex set with an assortment of floor toms and snares from other sets I had acquired. My hi-hats were pretty good(13in Zildjin-Z and 14in Zildjin AA), but everything else was pretty much entry level(lots of Sabian cymbals). I played until my early 20's but had to stop when I moved into an apartment building. Now all of equiptment is strewn across Western New York. I think a friend still uses some of it for his band.

I just bought a Guild GAD-30 acoustic. I normally would never buy a guitar made outside of the US, but I value acoustics a lot less than electrics. This is a great guitar for finger picking and might make me rethink the whole US vs. Japan/China mfg. I've been playing blues and rock exclusively to this point so it's a nice departure. I'm about half-way through learning the Tristram theme from D2.

This probably should have just been added to Andrew Man's thread.......but you get the idea.

No, I don't think I will fuck Stummies.
