pharoh shot didn't shoot up, it stayed above your head and could cause damage til lyou threw it. I don't even remember gyro blade, and magnet missile didnt shoot up, it followed enemies in a 90 degree angle.
basically any of the metal blade weapons that could shoot in 8 directions and come back let megaman shoot upwards. you forgot ring blade.

I found this while trying to research how the weapons in the Classic series worked. I remember Magnet Missile could veer up if the target was above, but it couldn't shoot straight up; and Gyro Blade would go Up, Left, Right, or Down and then you could give it another input, so basically it could be launched anywhere but the combination directions.

I guess if you need to hide a machinegun on a little boy with no shirt and really gay asian shorts the ass is really the only option.

The X clip is from Day of Sigma, the special OVA that came with Maverick Hunter X on the PSP. Every version I've found online has parts where it just grays out (like you see shortly after X pulls Shining Finger).
The real joke, for those not in the know, is that X and Domon Kashuu have the same voice actor in the US.
