CROSSBOW. Other than that, not particularly excited. It'll end up as a rental. I haven't liked a Call of Duty game since 4. Hopefully Black Ops changes that.

Hmn. That metaphor was so delightful, Anthrax, that I can't tell whether you actually liked it or not. Confused

Anyway. I'm actually looking forward to this. There has yet to be a decent shooter set in a Vietnam-like setting, and I'm thinking this may finally be the one I've been waiting for. We'll have to see.

I must object.

Call Of Duty Black Ops is not our last hope for a good Vietnam shooter.

Vietcong. It's an older game now (Come out in 2003), but it is one of the hardest and best FPS shooters you will ever play. And, if you can track down the "Mature Edition" (Read European and not American release), it is a great homage to the war in Vietnam.

It also has the best drill instrcutor outside of one played by R. Lee Ermey: (NSFW Due to extreme drill instructor language)

Shellshock: 'Nam 67 had promising moments in that regard. It seemed like there was some writer/planner who wanted to take out the "wow!" factor, and replace it with a tense, dreadful atmosphere, but some over-active man-children decided that it can't be a good war game without exploiting every stereotype and cliche possible, meanwhile over-using swearing and retarded "tough" dialogue the whole time.

As for Black Ops, CoD's multiplayer is getting kind of stale. Tired of running around in circles hoping I'm not running into an enemy spawn or something, and I would kill for just a Battlefield-style mode where you have enemies spawning somewhere, your team spawning somewhere, and condensing the fight down to one area. The SP looks promising, though. This might be one of my rare rents.

So here's to you Mrs. Robinson. People love you more- oh, nevermind.

I played 'Nam 67 and Vietcong, but decent to say the least but the sequel to 'Nam 67 was just pure awful. I doubt a good Vietnam shooter will come anytime soon

Damn. I've never heard of Vietcong, but heard through the grapevine that Battlefield Vietnam and Nam '67 both sucked, and pretty badly. Perhaps I was misinformed?

I was told you buy weapons in this game, instead of waiting 'til a certain level to unlock them.

I do hope they fix some of the bullshit that they have in MW2.

I'm so bananas I'm showing up to your open casket,
to fill it up with explosive gases,
and close it back,
with a lit match in it,
while I sit back, and just hope it catches.

Blow you to fragments,
laugh,
roll you, and smoke the ashes.

I love Battlefield Vietnam, though it was not without it's faults. Hell, I still play it online from time to time.

Name another game where you can airlift a manned tank with a Huey helicopter, and fly into battle with the M60s on the heli blazing, rockets flying, and the tank cannon blasting holy hell upon the enemy?
