Has anyone else seen Chasing Mummies? It is a new show that airs on the History Channel at 10pm EST on Wednesdays. The show is about Dr. Zahi Hawass, the Secretary General of the Egyptian Supreme Council of Antiquities, who leads a team of archaeologists in attempting to discover new tombs and other archaeological sites across Egypt. I particularly love the way he talks to the students who are working with him... he says some funny stuff. It's worth checking out IMO.

hawass is an asshole. he's been a primary driving force in actually restricting certain viable dig sites from being made available to archaeologists, including the underside of the sphinx. there's a lot of people in the archaeological world that hate his guts
