Maybe it's because I still have all my teeth and don't reek of moonshine, but I don't understand how Johnny won the fiddle duel in The Devil Went Down To Georgia. The devil's set was way better!

Steve Ouimette's metal version from Guitar Hero 3 also gave Satan the better set.

Also, it's Satan we're talking about here, shouldn't he just cheat or kill Johnny anyways even if he loses?

True. Since when does the "true" devil have any form of honor?

Satan always holds up his end of a deal. he just doesn't always make it clear what that might be.

Nah, I gotta back Johnny on this (the original.) I much prefer his clean, clear sound to the Devil's cats-in-heat screeching.

Besides, the devil totally broke the rules. It was supposed to be a FIDDLE duel, and busted out an entire band of demons. DQ, Lucifer!

You never get tired of making fun of the south do you Syd? Hey, it's all good, to me everyone from Boston talks like Mayor Quimby and smells like rotten clam chowder. Laughing

Never heard that song before, so watched it now. Pretty cool, i liked the video too.
It reminds on the futurama episode in the first season when bender goes to the robot hell.
But to answer syd's question, i got to agree with soldier hawk, johnny has done better.

I was under the impression that they were playing fiddles, and the Devil's set sounded more like a guitar, which is why he lost. I mean I guess it's a cool stunt, but it's not a fiddle anymore?

My understanding is that the devil was playing the golden fiddle he was wagering, and that it just happened to sound like a guitar.

Right right, but at the point that the fiddle stops sounding like a fiddle and starts sounding like a guitar, he's no longer going to win a fiddling competition?

I don't know.

Well if you can get a fiddle to make impossible sounds, wouldn't that make you the better fiddle player?

I can make a guitar sound like a church bell. I'm still not a great guitarist.

One of the big reasons Jimi Hendrix got so famous was for making sounds with a guitar that people didn't know you could make with a guitar.

Which in my opinion is wholly countered by his incredibly extensive use of the pentatonic minor scale. He was pretty good and he had an impact, but I sill think he was overrated. I would be interested to see where he would have gone with his music if he had turned over.

Can't really cheat in a guitar battle xD

Not like the devil can slip another ace here.

And Satan already killed Johnny. Ever watch the Outsiders? Satan burned down a church which resulted in Johnny dying ;D

I gotta back Johnny, which is strange being that I take Satan's side in pretty much any other situation.
