This might have been brought up previously, before my time here, but does anyone in this forum "pop their collar". To me It definitly should only be done by the Count from Sesame St. and the Fonz...even that is pushing it.
Here in my hometown, some friends and I went out drinking and when we got to the "Cool" bar it was over run with AF and Hollister kids with there Collars Popped. I nearly went into a rage, its like a bull when it sees red or something. I can't explain it I just hate it with a passion.
We decided to start a petition about wether or not it was "cool". After asking about 75 people and showing them the petition we had about 73 signatures. I still remember the two people that did not sign it. One was a girl who said it was "hot as fuck"~direct quote.
The other was a real big buff guy with a pink hat on. He said, "Thats the style"...first off, NO, its not the style. It was culturally acceptable back in the 60's and 70's when there were greasers and hippies. This is the 21st century and I'm a little concerned about what the next fashion trend is going to be.
I guess all I really wanted to say was I hate people that pop their collars...If you pop your collar you deserve to be fist fucked by Gold Dust and tea bagged by an elephant.

If you have a shirt with a longer collar, one that is usually folded down, like this:
Popping your collar is when they're not folded, as these jerkoffs are displaying here:

Depending, I think that's viable. To me, it's dressier shirts with the collars up that are insanely annoying.

Just to clairify, yes sweaters like the ones mentioned are acceptable. The collars on those are usually to small to attempt to fold down, that and its not the style of the sweater however, polo's and dress shirts should never be popped unless it as a gag, making fun of a douchebag with a popped collar, or if you had put way to much starch in your laundry and are physcially unable to fold it.
In that case just burn it. I have friends that pop there collars but they know what would happen if I caught them doing it in front of me. Just don't do it people...it wasn't cool then and newsflash it isn't cool now.

It doesn't even seem comfortable and it looks like more effort than it's worth to look like a cross between a vampire and a douche.

Trenchcoats fly with collar up because it makes you seem more criminal and badass, like the guy you kick the briefcase to in the parking garage at night.
