But I don't like palstic Beach as much as I liked Demon Dayz

Although they are extremely hit-and-miss with me, I love Gorillaz. To me, they are kind of like Gnarls Barkley in the sense where you will probably need to listen through the albums multiple times before you really find anything to respect.
I will have to pick up this album, and the song in the video is pretty nice. My favorite album was their debut one - probably somewhat because of the nostalgia, but also because most every song on that album was a winner. Demon Days is good, but I only like about half of its songs. The remixes from those two albums usually aren't very good, in my opinion, but there are a few out there.

My Favorite Album of theirs is Demon Dayz of the 3. The new one is growing on me though.
I like anything that melds musical genres together to make something fresh. It;s one of the reasons I liked (at the time) Kid Rock's Devil without a cause (before Kid Rock went all white trash conservative on us) It melded Genres
Gorillaz is a breath of fresh air and they always put an album when I've just about had it with music.
Although I am digging this new wave of pop stars

I would recommend anything by Beck or Mr. Bungle if you haven't heard them already.
I'm not a big Gorillaz fan. I own their first album cause i like Clint Eastwood and i like feel good inc. that's about the extent i listen to them.

I might be late to this since I don't check this forum much, but yeah, Plastic Beach was a little disappointing for me. 7/10 imo. About half of the tracks are good, but the rest are.. too "slow" for me.

this is a very good way to explain their music. although i believe Gnarls Barkley is more talented than the Gorillaz, i cant hate much on the Gorillaz.
then again, i am a Ceelo fan, so im kind of biased

I still prefer Blur to Gorillaz. Gorillaz is worse than hit or miss for me. It's more like miss-miss-miss-hit-miss-miss-miss with me.

Gnarls Barkley is pretty good. 'Crazy' got some good airtime so I picked up the St. Elsewhere album, somewhat expecting more stuff like 'Crazy' to be in it. Turns out that, in my opinion, Gnarls Barkley's style is very flexible and covers many genres, and this is noticeable from song to song. After a few more listens, St. Elsewhere is one of my favorite albums, though some songs are much better than others. I'd also have to say that, overall, St. Elsewhere has more substance than The Odd Couple, although The Odd Couple's good ones are just excellent.
I'll like this back to Gorillaz by saying that Gnarls Barkley's flexible style reminded me of Gorillaz. This is an interesting way to make an album since, yeah, it will probably be hit-and-miss, but it can also introduce you to new genres and styles that you may not have noticed before. I'm going to have to say again that Gorillaz remix songs usually aren't too good. Maybe this is because taking an varied-style song and then completely restyling it again is too much for me.
Random: I played both of these bands for my dad once, and he commented on 'em with "new-age-hippie-bullshit'.

I respect how varied both of these artists are, and how catchy some of it is.
It still can't stop it from boring the shit out of me, though.

I remember getting hooked on the Gorillaz when Toonami first aired a few of their videos on the Midnight Run. I remember watching 19-2000 and Clint Eastwood and being amazed at the style. It's a little bit of everything. When I first heard Demon Days I preferred it's style to that of their original album however as time passed I grew to like the first one more.
I especially liked Rock the House and Dracula. Anyway I like this track quite a lot. I was going to wait awhile to pick up Plastic Beach however I think I may get it tomorrow. I always feel very nostalgic when I listen to them.

Oh, yeah, I remember watching that Toonami late-night episode with the various animated music videos. The Tomorrow Comes Today video was one of the trippiest things my young eyes had seen at the time. Nowadays, it's still interesting to watch, but it probably hasn't aged too well.
As for the song itself, it's one of my favorites. After watching this again, I'd have to say the ending instrumental part of the video is still pretty cool.

If I remember correctly they played Tomorrow is Today, 19-2000, and then Clint Eastwood. Either way it's thanks to Toonami that I was introduced to Daft Punk as well.

I've never really been a Gorillaz fan, but Stylo is a really good song,

I heard the guys from Gnarls Barkley say that Damon Albarn of Blur & Gorillaz, taught them so much of what they know about music, and without him, Gnarls Barkley wouldn't even exist.

Whoa, that's pretty cool if it's true!
I still need to pick up the Plastic Beach album, perhaps I'll grab it after I'm done with finals.

Their self-titled is a 9/10. Demon Days is a 7/10, and Plastic Beach is a 6/10. They get poppier and worse with each album, IMO.
