I don't hold any hope for Sonic, because they've promised the same things as before. In fact the 3D Sonic wasn't the problem, I mean Sonic Adventure was great.

The problem was how they tweaked Sonic and made shit too gimmicky. First they add an assload of shitty characters among other things, then that Werewolf nonsense that had no business being in a Sonic game. You could very well make a Sonic game in the same fashion as say Crash Bandicoot on acid. Seriously, the only people who need to be in this new game are; Sonic, Tails, Robotnik, and Knuckles, and the little animals that come out every time you kill a robot. Fuck Shadow...fuck him in the ear.

Ah yes, that was a disaster when I rented it. I knew I was in trouble when I couldn't beat Helga, the first person you fight. I too, have also not played 63 1/3.

Nintendo Announces Excitebike: World Rally for WiiWare

Nintendo used its dedicated Wii channel to its potential today, unveiling a new sequel to a classic and beloved franchise. The announcement trailer (above) is for Excitebike: World Rally; surprisingly, the game is already set for release on November 9. A short video shows off its 2.5D look, and the announcers also stated it will include a track editor and optional motion controls. The announcement also came with a nice treat for Excitebike fans, in that the game will include online multiplayer support, most likely in a similar fashion to Mario Kart Wii.

More details are said to be forthcoming, but given that it's going to release in a few weeks, we don't have long to wait to find out more for ourselves. Check out the trailer above and let us know what you think of the new look.

Seems like a cool idea, I never knew why Excite Bike had such a cult following, I mean it was decent but not anything special. I never played Excite Truck for Wii, is that decent at all?

yeah it's pretty fun

Excite bike ruled because you could build your own track, I built tracks more than I actually raced. If this game plays with a little less aggravation than the NES one, I will love it to shit.

Will you be able to save your motherfucking tracks?

I'm still waiting for that potential product development, Nintendo.

As far as Excite Truck goes Optimist, how much do you think it's worth buying for?

Excitebike 64 was fantastic.

Excite Truck and Excite Bots are okay, but nothing special.

Yeah, I really enjoyed Excite Bike 64.

I might be out of the loop, but did they ever follow up/have plans for a Pilotwings sequel?

Well, there was the SNES game and the N64 sequel.

There had been plans for a GCN sequel, to be developed by Factor 5, but it was cancelled.

Smash TV Sequel May Be On The Way

Retro updates are all the rage these days, so what's next on the docket. According to the veteran developer Mark Turmell, it may be Smash TV.

In an interview on Retrogaming with Racketboy, the Smash TV programmer discussed the game at length, and also made mention of a potential sequel. Unfortunately, while it appears that the 3D revival actually made it into the programming stages, progress was halted when the situation at Midway deteriorated.

Smash TV was an arcade game originally developed in 1990 that depicted a violent game show. It was eventually ported to a number of systems, including the Sega Genesis and Super NES, and is fondly remembered for its difficulty and catchphrases like, "I'd buy that for a dollar!"

With Warner Bros. interested in developing older IPs, Turmell expects that the sequel will be made eventually, especially considering the popularity of twin-stick shooters on XBLA and PSN. With luck, we'll have the chance to win big money and big prizes soon enough.

I liked NARC since it was worth the 5 bucks I popped it out for, but I feel sorry for those that spent the full 20. The only real redeeming parts was Micheal Madison as a Voice actor, but it had pretty much nothing to do with the original NARC. I just would have loved to kill hobos in 3D in that game.

Magic Sword fills me with great nostalgia. It makes my heart yearn for bygone days when adventurers climbed towers cause there was evil there, and they were filled with iconic and illogically placed monsters in rooms jutting with traps and hazards.

After Burner Climax Launching April 21

After Burner's current-generation revival is less than a month away. Sega has announced a date and price for the arcade port, which is slated to hit Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network in the latter part of April.
After Burner Climax will be available for download on XBLA for 800 Microsoft Points ($10), and $9.99 on the PlayStation Network. It is an update of the classic shooter that served as an arcade fixture for more than two decades.

The update will feature three planes and some 20 missions. It first arrived in Japanese arcades back in 2006.

Look for After Burner Climax on XBLA on April 21, with the PSN version to follow when the PlayStation Store updates the day after.

Double Dragon II 3D Remake Headed to XBLA

Double Dragon II: The Revenge, the old Technos Japan beat-em-up from 1988, is being revived for a 3D remake on Xbox Live Arcade. Now known as Double Dragon II: Wander of the Dragons, the game is based on the arcade version, not the reworked NES one, and is being developed by Barunson Interactive for release this September.

According to Co-Optimus, Wander of the Dragons will have entirely new art but still features the old brothers, Billy and Jimmy Lee, as well as many of the old enemies and weapons (those available include knives, grenades, and two-by-fours) fans will remember. A new combo system and diving knee kick move is joined by the return of the old cyclone kick, making it sound as if the game will offer a bit more nuance than a direct port would allow for.

It'll need that depth with a 1,200 Microsoft Point ($15) price tag. Besides a four-player Versus mode and Survival mode (where players fight off waves of enemies for as long as possible), the Story mode features two-player co-op support. However, Co-Optimus says online play has yet to be guaranteed, which could be a really damper on what otherwise sounds like an intriguing remake.

im not sure how i feel about this. the video didnt really sell it much, and the only real DD II is the NES version. that version rocked.
